Run for a Cause raise money for the Ballarat Christmas Appeal with new track under the arch.

00:00 It's such a fantastic day here at Run for a Cause and we're just so overwhelmed by the

00:04 community support that we've had for this year's event.

00:08 Incredible weather and incredible support for the Ballarat Christmas Appeal.

00:12 We'll have around 800 people participating across the three events today.

00:17 Our 12K runners were really positive about the cause.

00:20 I think it gives them a bit of everything.

00:22 So obviously they get to run down through the arch but back through the Ballarat Skipton

00:28 Rail Trail as well.

00:30 Just gives a great deal of diversity around the cause and yeah we've had really positive

00:34 feedback this morning.

00:36 Fantastic to see the kids out here as well.

00:38 So a one kilometre cause for them and we've just set off on the six kilometre route as

00:43 well so there's a little bit of everything but we've had tremendous positive feedback

00:48 and we know that this event really does capture the imagination of the community because they

00:55 know that when they participate all the money goes back and stays here helping those in

01:00 need in the Ballarat community.

01:02 Christmas Appeal runs right up until December the 24th.

01:09 We're also receiving gifts of food and toys as well in the lead up to Christmas.
