Children scream as teacher’s boyfriend hijacks class to propose to her

A second grade teacher and her class were left in complete shock when her boyfriend came to be her class's mystery reader and ended his story by proposing on the spot. Rachel Leibold, 24, from Carmel, Indiana, hosts the mystery reader sessions for her class every Friday, with parents, grandparents, older siblings and school staff visiting and reading a story of their choice. Knowing of this routine, Rachel's boyfriend, Austin, 24, came up with an elaborate plan to incorporate storytime into his proposal. Having only told a few friends and family about the plan, Austin contacted the principal at West Clay Elementary School to ask if they could work out a way to make the pieces come together. The principal emailed someone within Rachel’s school district, asking them to create a fake email about recording one of the mystery readers in her school as content to share with the community. The message was forwarded on to Rachel, who, to her disbelief, looked at her calendar and realized it was the day that Austin had been penciled in to be her class's mystery reader. On October 27, having given Rachel's pupils a series of guesses to get his identity, Austin revealed who he was and started reading from his chosen book. The book was one that he had made in elementary school, which focused on bowling and saw him add a "Shiny Head Pin" to each page as he read. Having finished the story, Austin informed the class that there was, in fact, one special last page that no one had ever heard.
