00:02 Hey, it's People in 10.
00:05 Taylor Swift may be back in New York City
00:07 after another girls night out,
00:09 but we're still swooning over her public displays
00:12 of affection with Travis Kelce,
00:13 who flew all the way to Buenos Aires
00:15 to support her on the Heiress tour.
00:17 Did you catch those lyric changes?
00:19 (crowd chattering)
00:22 (Taylor screaming)
00:23 And his reaction?
00:25 Then there was the run straight into his arms
00:27 and that kiss.
00:28 Girl.
00:30 Are you ready to party?
00:32 Well, Leo DiCaprio was to celebrate his 49th birthday.
00:35 His girlfriend was there,
00:37 and the source tells us they packed on the PDA
00:39 all night long.
00:41 And this guest list would put most parties to shame.
00:43 You've got Jay-Z and Beyonce, Snoop Dogg, Tobey Maguire,
00:47 plus Lil Wayne providing the soundtrack.
00:49 What?
00:50 The source even says at one point,
00:52 Leo was carried around the room.
00:54 Hey, my kind of party.
00:56 Cheers to you, birthday boy.
00:58 And what's a party without an after party?
01:01 Over in New York, Kylie Jenner supported her man
01:04 late into the night.
01:05 Now, she didn't actually go to the SNL studios,
01:07 but we did spot her at an after party
01:09 after Timothee Chalamet hosted the show this weekend.
01:12 Man, I gotta get on the list of one of these.
01:15 Sophie Turner and Dakota Johnson were there too.
01:17 And remember these photos from an after party last month?
01:20 Ah, so much FOMO.
01:22 This is the place to be.
01:24 If you need advice on the perfect thirst trap,
01:26 who's the first person you call?
01:28 Probably not your wife, but Blake Lively,
01:30 she's there for Ryan Reynolds no matter the ask.
01:34 Ryan posted this photo with his gym trainer,
01:36 then Blake reposted it and zoomed in to show herself
01:40 in the reflection actually taking the photo.
01:42 She said, "This isn't photography, it's a public service."
01:45 And we have to agree.
01:46 Thank you, Blake.
01:48 Our quote of the week comes from Jennifer Aniston,
01:50 who shared a beautiful tribute
01:52 to Matthew Perry on Wednesday.
01:53 "This part right here really stuck out to me."
01:56 She wrote, "Being able to really sit in this grief
01:58 allows you to feel the moments of joy and gratitude,
02:01 but having loved someone that deep."
02:03 And we loved him deeply.
02:04 "He was such a part of our DNA.
02:06 We were always the six of us.
02:08 This was a chosen family.
02:09 It had to be hard on all of them
02:11 when he passed away a few weeks ago."
02:14 Jen also says she's been going through
02:15 their old texts since then,
02:17 which left her laughing and crying.
02:19 Their co-stars shared posts too,
02:21 with their own memories, inside jokes,
02:24 and gratitude to their friend
02:25 for the love and laughs they shared.
02:28 Switching gears now to the juicy new royal book,
02:32 all about the status of the rift
02:34 between Prince William and Prince Harry.
02:36 I can't wait until it comes out.
02:37 I need to know the biggest bombshells now,
02:40 and I know who's got 'em.
02:42 (phone ringing)
02:43 - Hi, Mako.
02:44 - Hey, Michelle.
02:45 Okay, so this feud between William and Harry
02:47 has been going on for what feels like forever.
02:49 So the burning question is, is it gonna stay that way?
02:52 The answer is yes.
02:54 We interviewed the author of the new royals book, "Endgame."
02:58 He spoke to a source who said that Prince William
03:00 views his brother Harry as a defector.
03:03 And you know, when that is the situation,
03:06 you can imagine that the relationship
03:08 is really in rough shape.
03:10 And what Scobie says is, "It is beyond repair."
03:13 - Where's their dad, King Charles, in all of this?
03:16 - That relationship is not the strongest.
03:19 However, Harry and his father do still speak,
03:22 but there are other people pointing out
03:24 that when there's this massive divide
03:27 between Charles's only two sons, William and Harry,
03:30 and Charles seems unable to bring them together
03:33 and repair that damage, some people are saying,
03:35 "What does that say about Charles's effectiveness
03:39 as a king?"
03:40 - I'm holding out hope that the brothers
03:42 are gonna reconcile at some point.
03:43 What do you think?
03:44 - These two brothers, Diana's only two sons,
03:47 they were once close, they are not now.
03:50 There's a very large divide between them.
03:53 I mean, never say never, but no time soon.
03:56 - Well, Michelle, thank you for the royal tea.
03:59 It is piping hot.
04:00 I'll talk to you later.
04:02 - I always love talking with you, Mako.
04:04 Bye.
04:05 - Okay, I'll talk to you later, bye.
04:07 It's the reunion we've been waiting for.
04:09 Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan are back together again,
04:12 20 years after "Freaky Friday."
04:14 - Oh, I'm like the Crypt Keeper!
04:17 - Okay, that's enough.
04:18 (screaming)
04:20 - In true mom fashion, Jamie gushed
04:22 about how Lindsay grew up beautifully.
04:24 Now, all I wanna see is these two in a movie again,
04:28 and I might just get my wish.
04:30 Jamie actually said she hopes
04:31 they can switch places again soon.
04:33 Hmm, could be a tease for "Freaky Friday" too.
04:36 Come on, Disney, make it happen.
04:39 If you're on TikTok, then you know
04:41 the biggest trend for fall is channeling a toasty latte.
04:45 Sounds kinda crazy, but you can't go wrong with neutrals.
04:48 And this week, our girl Scar Jo took it for a spin.
04:51 She wore a head-to-toe beige on the "Today Show,"
04:53 where she helped Al Roker with the weather report.
04:56 You guys, there's a bunch of stuff happening over here.
04:58 This looks like a warm front.
04:59 This seems like a cold front.
05:01 - Yes, yes!
05:03 - She's a natural,
05:04 and even went behind the scenes in the control room.
05:07 We're loving the menswear-inspired structure here,
05:09 and paired with a pop of scarlet on the lips.
05:12 You get it?
05:13 Anyway, chef's kiss.
05:15 Okay, this next headline made me do a double take.
05:18 Apparently, Dior has a new skincare line
05:21 for, drum roll please, babies?
05:24 Yeah, unfortunately you heard that right.
05:26 And the price tag, it ain't cheap.
05:28 Just the scented water spray
05:30 could cost you up to 230 bucks, huh?
05:33 Like, I know we all wanna have
05:34 that soft-to-the-touch baby skin,
05:36 but don't they already have it?
05:38 Come on now.
05:39 And this, the same week that Balenciaga
05:41 dropped their $900 towel skirt?
05:44 I'm gonna need these brands to be for real.
05:46 Are they trolling us?
05:47 Now it's the sit-down with Leslie Odom Jr.
05:51 Hi, Leslie!
05:52 Currently, you are starring in "Pearly Victorious,"
05:55 a non-Confederate romp through the cotton patch.
05:57 - Can I get an amen?
05:59 - I had the pleasure of seeing the play over the weekend.
06:01 I laughed, I cried.
06:03 My husband and I can't stop talking about it.
06:05 - Thank you so much.
06:06 We're having the best time.
06:09 It feels like a gift.
06:10 Ossie Davis has left here for us.
06:12 It's the first revival in 62 years,
06:15 and it feels like it waited for us.
06:17 I'm so glad that it did.
06:18 It waited for this moment,
06:20 for this little company of actors
06:22 to share it with this audience at this time.
06:24 It feels really special.
06:26 - It was so powerful,
06:28 and the play addresses a lot of different things.
06:30 How do you strike that balance
06:31 of putting forth a serious message,
06:33 but also shrouding it in comedy?
06:36 - It is so joyful.
06:38 The afternoon in the theater,
06:41 the evening in the theater,
06:42 it is so full of joy.
06:45 And the more fun we have,
06:48 we've learned in delivering the material,
06:51 the more fun we have,
06:52 the greater the impact,
06:54 the more memorable it is.
06:56 And so that's just the genius of Mr. Davis.
06:59 That's what he realized.
07:00 I have to say, I wanted the play done six years ago.
07:04 I've been chasing this material
07:05 and trying to get it done all this time.
07:08 We had a real good opportunity last season to come in,
07:12 but there was delay.
07:14 And one of my favorite gospel songs says,
07:19 "God's delay is not denial."
07:23 And so sometimes we just, well, all the time,
07:26 we just gotta trust those delays and keep working.
07:29 - How do you keep it fresh?
07:30 Because y'all have so many shows each night.
07:32 - Oh, it's not hard.
07:34 That's a part of my training,
07:36 of our training as theater people.
07:39 This is what we do.
07:41 This is what we love to do.
07:42 I did 500 performances of Aaron Burr.
07:45 And that wasn't, I ain't go to sleep on any of them.
07:49 - I saw you and Nicolette recently attended a party
07:51 for Kerry Washington.
07:53 Have you read her book?
07:54 And what's your personal takeaway?
07:56 - Kerry is, she's brilliant.
07:58 The book is, it's so lovely to spend time with her
08:03 in this way.
08:04 With, you know, she's grown to be a dear friend.
08:07 I don't spend as much time with her as I'd like.
08:10 - You write, you act, you sing, you're on stage.
08:14 Does Nicolette, your wife, ever say to you,
08:16 "Hey, Leslie, slow down."
08:18 - That's what I'm saying.
08:18 No, she, somebody gotta tell her to slow down first.
08:20 She can't tell me to do something she don't do.
08:23 No, we just, we, this is what we love to do.
08:28 So it doesn't, it has its challenges and stuff,
08:32 but it don't always feel like work.
08:34 Usually when it feels like work,
08:35 it means we're doing it wrong.
08:37 This feels like something else.
08:40 - I know that Abel is still little.
08:42 He's only two years old,
08:43 but does Lucy, your six-year-old daughter,
08:45 understand that her dad is kind of a big deal?
08:47 - Oh Lord, I don't know about that.
08:50 Hey buddy.
08:52 I have to do a little bit of work.
08:56 I'm talking to my friend.
08:58 You wanna come say hi?
08:59 Come say hi real quick.
09:01 (laughing)
09:03 Oh, this is awesome.
09:05 Hi big boy, how cute.
09:09 - You wanna say hi?
09:09 - Hi.
09:11 - You just made my day.
09:12 - Okay, good.
09:13 I love you.
09:13 - Are either of your kids showing any signs
09:18 of being a performer?
09:19 - Listen, I hope that I have two little doctors
09:22 up in this house.
09:23 That's what I'm hoping.
09:24 - Why do you want them to be doctors?
09:25 - I just don't want them to go into this business
09:28 by default.
09:29 You know, I don't want them to,
09:32 it's not the family business.
09:33 This is something that, you know, separately,
09:35 my wife and I have been dedicated to
09:38 and chasing since we were not much older than they are.
09:42 But, you know, nothing's gonna be handed to these kids
09:47 'cause we share a last name, that's for sure.
09:49 - Finally, pick any one of your projects
09:51 and plug it for 10 seconds, go.
09:53 - Come see "Pearly Victorious" at the Music Box Theater.
09:56 - Please listen to "When a Crooner Dies,"
09:59 my new album, a collection of original songs.
10:02 That's what I got going on
10:03 and I would appreciate it if you'd support.
10:05 - Leslie, thank you so much for joining me.
10:07 - My pleasure, 'til next time.
10:08 (air whooshing)
