00:03 Per People magazine, a representative for the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office
00:07 confirmed to the outlet that the former reality star died November 9th in Stone Mountain, Georgia.
00:13 A cause of death was not disclosed. According to an obituary posted online,
00:18 a memorial service will be held November 19th, with her funeral taking place November 20th.
00:24 E! News has reached out to the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office as well,
00:27 but has yet to hear back. Mallory appeared on season four of the ABC series, which aired in 2014.
00:34 The show was a spin-off of the Extreme Makeover franchise, which followed individuals with more
00:38 than 200 pounds to lose working with trainer Chris Powell and others to adjust their lifestyle.
00:43 In a 2018 YouTube interview with local Atlanta journalist Kirby Carroll,
00:48 Mallory, a makeup artist, shared how she ended up on the reality show.
00:52 Mallory explained that she initially saw a casting call for The Biggest Loser, but wasn't chosen.
00:57 However, she said the producers then sent her details about the series' extreme weight loss.
01:02 She said of the opportunity, "I prayed over that application before I sent it off.
01:06 I prayed every step of the way." In the interview, Mallory also explained that she was prompted to
01:12 pursue weight loss after the death of one of her sorority sisters at the age of 29.
01:17 She recalled, "I was literally waking up every day like, 'This may be my last day waking up,'
01:22 like, 'I don't know what's going to happen for me.' When it's playing on your mind that
01:26 I might need to do something about my weight because I'm afraid I might die too, then you
01:30 might need to pay attention to something like that." Mallory continued her fitness journey
01:35 through dance. She often shared her passion for makeup and fitness with her followers on Instagram.
01:40 The 40-year-old shared her final post on November 3rd. Following news of her passing,
01:45 Extreme Weight Loss Season 5 contestant Kim Williams-Maxill paid tribute to Mallory in a
01:50 post on Instagram, saying, "Rest in love sis. To my fellow Extreme Weight Loss sis Brandi Mallory,
01:56 you will be missed. I'll never forget while I was at boot camp for season 5. We watched your season
02:01 and it inspired us to keep going." She added, "You truly made an impact on this world with your zest
02:07 and your passion for body positivity. I'm blessed to have gotten to experience you in this world."
