00:05 - The thing that has developed very organically

00:07 over a decade with Rick is he's rather unique.

00:11 And the unique thing about him is not how smart he is,

00:14 but rather how he, deep down,

00:16 is different on an emotional level.

00:19 - Wow, the wife guy!

00:20 Dead wife, Rick!

00:21 I'll tell you, this guy does not know when to quit.

00:25 - When Rick Prime invented interdimensional travel,

00:29 he wanted to cajole less fortunate versions of himself

00:33 into a kind of boys club.

00:35 But the number one rule of joining that boys club

00:38 is you gotta let go of your family.

00:40 Our Rick is the Rick that walked away from all of that,

00:44 and that cost him.

00:46 - You never told me he killed your wife across infinity.

00:50 - We learned this crazy truth in this episode,

00:51 which is that Diane didn't just get killed by Rick Prime.

00:55 Rick Prime erased Diane from all realities everywhere.

00:59 - Rick decided nothing would be more valuable in his life

01:03 than hunting down that one version of himself

01:06 that made this happen.

01:08 But there are parts of us that might cost us

01:12 the things that we really want.

01:15 Oh, shit!

01:18 - Listen, Rick to Rick, he's got the weapon plans.

01:23 - There's an implicit choice there

01:24 where Evil Morty is giving Rick a decision

01:27 where you can either stay in here

01:28 and beat the shit out of this guy until he's dead,

01:30 which is what you supposedly have always wanted.

01:33 And while you're doing that,

01:34 that's gonna be the reason why I'm walking away

01:36 with the power to destroy everything you ever care about.

01:40 - What's your life without me?

01:41 - Let's find out.

01:43 - When I read that in the script,

01:46 Rick punches him until he's dead, it made perfect sense.

01:50 It didn't need to be anything more elaborate than that.

01:52 - We've just seen all the gadgetry of these two guys

01:56 in the fight scene, and now we just have one guy

01:59 using his wit to taunt another guy

02:01 who's just using his fists.

02:03 I love how it gets shaved down

02:04 to just brutal basics for this scene.

02:07 - He chose to seek vengeance, and we end the episode

02:10 with that weapon in Evil Morty's control.

02:13 - Evil Morty is actually the more powerful villain,

02:16 and powerful villains don't just hide from you

02:19 or fight you, they own you.

02:20 That's something a real god does.

02:22 - How's it feel?

02:24 Better?

02:25 No?

02:25 Exactly the same?

02:27 Yeah, it always does.

02:29 - Killing Rick Prime is just the beginning for Rick,

02:31 because now the rest of his life can begin.

02:33 Who is Rick now that his vengeance is not there anymore?

02:37 Can Rick be happy after he finally accomplished the goal

02:41 that's driven him for decades?

02:43 - The thing that throws Rick off is the realization

02:47 that he gets to do whatever he wants
