00:00 We sang about Poland and for Poland.

00:04 In the first part you heard songs of Polish composers,

00:08 such as Fryderyk Chopin, Stanisław Moniuszko, Paderewski, etc.

00:12 In the second part, together with over 120 people,

00:18 we performed Polish patriotic songs.

00:21 It was an amazing meeting,

00:25 because on one stage the younger and the older ones sang,

00:29 so they prepared a rich repertoire of patriotic songs.

00:33 The instrumental band was accompanied by

00:38 Livia Szumala on the trumpet, Robert Adamczak on the piano,

00:41 the double bass Tobiasz Michna and Mirosław Skowroński on percussion.

00:45 In the first part, I had the pleasure of singing with my dear friend,

00:50 tenor Dariusz Pietrzykowski.

00:52 I must admit that when organizing such a project,

00:56 I was surprised that children do not know patriotic songs.

01:00 It is not that they took a recorder and sang,

01:03 that they associated any songs.

01:06 No, we learned every "wojenko, wojenko",

01:10 "Przybyli łani pod okienko" and so on.

01:12 I am very proud that these young art adepts,

01:16 these young Poles, will always have patriotic songs in their repertoire.

01:21 Trzebnica is a beautiful place,

01:24 a place I like to come back to.

01:27 I feel good, good people, peace and joy

01:32 that we can give concerts here.

01:35 This is a moment when, coming back to all that we have experienced over the centuries,

01:43 we are aware that we live in a free country,

01:48 we owe a lot to many people,

01:50 to our national heroes.

01:54 And the remaining beautiful memories,

01:57 which in poetry, in various kinds of songs, in songs,

02:02 we can somehow, listening to them,

02:06 thank God and these people

02:09 that it all went so differently.

02:12 Sometimes I wonder what would happen if.

02:15 Of course, no one needs it,

02:18 because it really is as it is.

02:21 But such moments, even here in the basilica,

02:24 which has heard more than one,

02:27 they are like a wind in a saddle.

02:30 Because then a person realizes

02:33 that these values are necessary to all of us,

02:36 that thanks to these values we can become better for each other.

02:40 And we can also, in some way,

02:43 thanking ourselves, create this reality.

02:46 This is important today, especially when we are also experiencing war,

02:50 because we look to the east, to the Middle East.

02:53 We see that sometimes values are running away from us,

02:56 as if a little through the fingers.

02:59 And such moments that stop it and accentuate it,

03:03 show that it is worth it, that it is worth being good for yourself,

03:07 that it is worth listening to everything that the generations left us

03:12 as a little drop, a good drop,

03:16 that it is worth discovering it all over again,

03:19 to live with it, to share it with others,

03:22 and to pass it on to the next generations.
