Foreigner detained for allegedly setting off fireworks from moving car

Police have arrested a 31-year-old foreign national on suspicion of setting off fireworks from a moving vehicle at Jalan 2/3A Bandar Utara in Kuala Lumpur.
A video of the incident has gone viral.

In a statement on Monday, Central District Police Chief ACP Ahmad Sukarno Muhammad Zahari

said police launched an investigation after a video of the incident went viral.

He added that the 31-year-old suspect does not have a criminal record and will be remanded

to assist with investigations under Section 7 of the Explosives Act 1957.

Offenders face seven years' imprisonment or a fine of 10,000 ringgit or both.
