Marc Duquesne's Fatal Crash @ Circuit Le Séquestre 1999 (Aftermath)

French racing driver Marc Duquesne, 39-year-old from Éragny, Val-d'Oise department in the northwestern suburbs of Paris, France, was killed in an accident which happened at the Circuit Le Séquestre in Albi, department of Tarn in southern France, on Sunday, 14 March 1999 morning.
Duquesne participated in the second round of Coupe de France des Circuits at the wheel of his Renault Mégane #25. Shortly after the start of the first heat of the Group N-A class, about 11h30 he lost control of the car which spun and hit a tyre barrier. Despite the impact was not so violent, the driver was knocked unconscious. Although the event's medical crew was on hand almost immediately, Marc Duquesne died shortly after the crash.
After the tragedy, the race was stopped, but later the other drivers agreed to restart, in memory of their fallen comrade.
Marc Duquesne was reported to be the first fatality at the track since 1987, when two motorcycle riders, Paul Baudry and Christian Roubaud, were killed in a multiple accident at the start of a race.
