Hyundai used the 2008 New York Auto Show to debut its hot new real-wheel-drive coupe

00:41 We're here at the 2008 New York Auto Show with one of the star cars of the show, the

00:46 Hyundai Genesis Coupé.

00:48 Now this coupé's built on an all new rear drive platform, the BK platform, engineered

00:53 by Hyundai.

00:54 It's similar to the rear drive platform used in the Genesis sedan, but it's smaller and

00:59 different enough to constitute a completely new platform for Hyundai.

01:03 Power trains for this car, which goes on sale next year, include a 2 litre turbocharged

01:09 four cylinder engine with between 212 and 223 horsepower, and a 3.8 litre V6 with between

01:17 306 and 310 horsepower.

01:20 Those figures depend on whether you're using regular fuel or premium.

01:24 The engines drive through either a six speed automatic transmission, or in the case of

01:28 the V6, a six speed manual, or a five speed manual with a four cylinder version.
