We run the test numbers on Hyundais new tuner-ready 2010 Genesis Coupe 2.0T.

00:07 Behind me is the all new 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe.

00:11 So far we've track tested it, we've road tested it, we've compared it against the Ford Mustang GT and the Nissan 370Z.

00:17 We've even gone drifting with drift champion Reece Millen.

00:20 Prior to today we'd only driven the 3.8 liter V6 Hyundai Genesis Coupe.

00:24 Today however, we have the 2 liter turbo 4 cylinder.

00:28 Now this engine is very similar to the 2 liter used in the Mitsubishi Lancer Rally Art.

00:34 It makes 210 horsepower in this application and 223 pound feet of torque.

00:39 The boost range for this engine ranges from 8.7 psi all the way up to 17.5.

00:44 Since this is the first time we've had this car, we're going to put it through our usual battery of tests.

00:48 Let's go see how it does.

00:49 First we head it to the drag strip.

00:53 With a 2.0T accelerated from 0 to 60 in 6.8 seconds and through the quarter mile in 15.2 seconds at 90.3 miles per hour.

01:05 Next up we tested the 2.0T's Brembo brakes.

01:10 Which halted the coupe from 60 miles per hour in just 113 feet.

01:14 Finally we head it to our figure 8 course.

01:17 With a 2.0T delivered a run of 26.8 seconds at 0.64 G.

01:24 Further, on the skip pad it held on for 0.91 G.

01:29 Alright, so we just finished testing the all new Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2 liter turbo.

01:33 Compared to the V6 model, it's quite a bit slower.

01:36 That's because it makes almost 100 horsepower less.

01:38 But there are advantages to the 4 cylinder.

01:41 It weighs quite a bit less than the V6, so there's less weight on the front wheels.

01:44 Which means crisper turn in, a little better steering response, and overall handling is a little bit better.

01:50 So you could argue that it's actually a little bit more fun to drive than the V6 model.

01:53 And then there's the price. The 2 liter starts at just under $23,000.

01:57 And this track version, which comes with Brembo brakes, a limited slip, and 19 inch wheels.

02:02 Stickers for just over $27,000. Almost $3,000 less than the V6 version.

02:06 More important, Hyundai is going to offer an R-Spec version of this car.

02:09 Which is decontented track.

02:11 Which means no sunroof, no high end audio.

02:14 So it's a little bit lighter and geared towards autocrossers and tuners.

02:17 Speaking of tuners, they're going to love this car.

02:19 Because they'll be able to make a few mods to the engine and crank out 300, 400 horsepower easy.
