Rare Titanic First-Class Menu and Pocket Watch from Immigrant Passenger Up for Auction
  • 6 months ago
The Titanic's April 11, 1912 first-class menu, showing the luxury meals served just days before the ship sank, is being auctioned along with a pocket watch recovered from the body of a Russian immigrant passenger. The menu was recently discovered by the family of a Canadian historian who died in 2017. Some water damage is visible but dishes like lamb, quail, and apricots are still legible on the menu. The watch's movement is corroded but Hebrew figures on the face remain visible. The menu is estimated to sell for £60,000 (around $73,800 USD), and the pocket watch for at least £50,000 (around $61,500 USD) at the upcoming UK auction.
