00:00 So, TriTag is a non-contact rugby game that's also a development model that transitions

00:05 the kids into the contact format.

00:08 So it's just like a softer introduction to the game and then you get kind of tackle ready

00:13 if you want to call it that in a safer environment.

00:15 So I started TriTag, I started doing all the testing and piloting and things like that

00:20 maybe two and a half years ago and then Rugby Australia have come along and picked it up

00:25 as their official non-contact game.

00:27 It's been great.

00:28 You know, it's different to the other non-contact formats.

00:32 You can kick on any play as high as long as you want.

00:34 There's no restriction around that.

00:36 There's optional scrums, there's optional line-outs.

00:38 The whole idea is to try and allow a participant to achieve their whole purpose of playing

00:43 the game.

00:44 I think sport appeals to so many people for different reasons now and you've really got

00:49 to allow for a broader range.

00:51 We're not as traditional as we once were in regards to what we want out of our sport.

00:55 So hopefully with those optional rules in there and things like that, the feedback's

00:58 been really good that they get what they want out of it.

01:01 The bush has always produced the most talent.

01:02 I know when I was a kid we always had people from the bush.

01:07 Their recruiters dream because they rarely whinge and they get about their business and

01:11 they're generally tough.

01:12 So I've actually been a bit surprised to see, unfortunately, a few AFL fields along here

01:18 and out this way, but as long as people are playing a team sport.
