00:12 trying to get in front of her. Was that something you talked about before the game?

00:18 To highlight one player is to undermine other players. I think every single forward in the

00:23 Man City side are a threat. For me personally, against a No. 9, I want to mitigate any chances

00:30 that they have. I think I'm at the stage in my career where I don't want to be taken for

00:37 granted and I want to push. I can come up toe-to-toe with these players. Bunny Shaw

00:45 today didn't have a great day but I think that was because I had a good day.

00:50 One of the things we saw as well, you were taking goal kicks at one point. I wonder how

00:54 much you talked about in terms of playing out from the back, not playing too much in

00:59 the areas where City are really, really strong and perhaps just playing away from that area

01:03 a little bit.

01:04 Yes, I think you see, to speak more tactically, you see City pressing from out to in. Not

01:10 many other teams do that, pressing up with the two wingers and Bunny Shaw sitting a bit

01:14 deep. So it can lull you into a false sense of security. I think in terms of my longer

01:19 balls playing, that's a strength of mine. We knew that they were weaker on that left

01:23 side and we had players, particularly with Beth coming off the bench, that we knew could

01:27 give them a hard time. I think in football you've got to play to the strengths that you

01:31 have in those moments. That's not to say we change based on every team, but I think more

01:36 so looking at where we can be stronger and developing in that sense. It's obviously the

01:41 start of the season but you build on those results and the ebb and flow of football,

01:47 I guess.

01:48 What's it like to get three points?

01:50 Massive. I mean, every game we want to win, but particularly against a Man City who, we

01:57 come toe to toe against them. We're both ball-playing teams. I think the Arsenal DNA in the past

02:02 has been looked at as just ball-playing. I think today we showed that we had a bit of

02:08 bite about us and ultimately I think that bite gave us the upper hand and we've come

02:13 away with three points. So, I'm extremely happy, but I think more so looking at the

02:18 whole team, I think we deserved it.

02:20 It's not been the easiest start to the season necessarily. Is this the result in the match

02:26 that kick-starts things properly and gives you the confidence now going into the rest

02:30 of the season?

02:31 Yeah, I mean, not the easiest start. It's been fairly rocky. That's football also. We

02:35 know that the levels are being raised in the WSL and that's what we want to see. We don't

02:39 just want to keep pushing the ceiling higher, but I think also the floor needs to be raised

02:42 and you've been seeing that across the board. So, looking at, as a whole, stepping back,

02:49 less so as a player, but also then as a player, you want that. You want to be playing against

02:53 the top teams and today coming out against Man City, we knew what they had to offer with

03:00 Bunning Shore, Hempo, Coey Kelly, but ultimately I think we minimised them and that's spoken

03:08 in the result, I think.

03:09 Yeah, lots of people know that it's a short season. So, was there perhaps a feeling before

03:14 the game today that if you didn't get that win, then you might have been a little bit

03:18 behind in terms of that title race? Did you feel like it had that kind of a touch on it?

03:22 To be honest, every single game is like that this season and ultimately that's what the

03:26 WSL is about. I think it's probably one of the most competitive leagues in the country,

03:31 in the world now and that's a credit to the teams coming in and putting out performances

03:36 week in, week out, but Man City are always going to be a tough game and it's less so

03:44 about maybe a short season, more about taking it step by step and winning every single game

03:48 that we have in front of us, basically.
