Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, has announced that he is moving from Seattle, where he founded the company in 1994, to Miami. Bezos said he wants to be closer to his parents, who recently moved back to Miami, where he attended high school. He also cited that operations for his rocket company Blue Origin are increasingly based in Cape Canaveral, Florida. Bezos purchased two mansions totaling $147 million in Miami in recent months. In an Instagram post, Bezos stated, “As exciting as the move is, it’s an emotional decision for me. Seattle, you will always have a piece of my heart.” Miami has become a popular destination for tech executives and investors to relocate to since the start of the pandemic in 2020.
