00:02 - Hey everyone, I'm Adam McLeay.
00:05 - And I'm Anna DePaula.
00:07 - And we are so excited to have you guys along today.
00:10 So today we're gonna be doing a little beach wave tutorial,
00:12 and I mean, what a mane.
00:14 Girl makes my job so easy. - Work your magic,
00:17 work your magic, you know what you're doing.
00:20 - You know, it's all about easy texture in life these days.
00:24 Again, we love a good glam look,
00:26 but I really find it's best when you just keep it easy.
00:29 I mean, I'm blessed, this is my natural butt.
00:31 We're gonna create something very similar today
00:34 from several shoots that we've done over the years together.
00:37 So I'm using all GHD tools today.
00:40 GHD is based out of the UK, stands for Good Hair Day.
00:44 My favorite reason why I use GHD.
00:47 - I just found something else today.
00:49 - GHD is Good Hair Day.
00:50 - Great, okay, that's why I'm in Good Hair Day today.
00:52 - So fun fact, if any of you are looking at this
00:54 and worried about the price point,
00:57 all of these tools I've had for over nine years
01:01 and I use them every day of my life.
01:03 So it is totally worth the investment.
01:06 And another fun fact is,
01:08 these irons heat up in 20 seconds.
01:13 - That's practical.
01:14 - If you notice, there's no heat setting, right?
01:16 There are computer chips in each portion of the iron
01:22 that maintain 365 degrees.
01:25 So GHD says that is their glass malleable stage.
01:29 It keeps your natural keratin intact without melting.
01:32 So it's creating a resolve without overdoing the hair.
01:36 And there's the beep, 20 seconds.
01:38 We're hot at 365 degrees.
01:40 - Yeah, I'm always amazed at how you can do it
01:49 with a flat iron.
01:50 Like, you need to teach me.
01:52 - Well, this is what we're here to do today.
01:54 You know, it really is.
01:55 It's all about keeping it easy, soft 45 degree angle,
02:00 and just gently roll down all that hair,
02:04 keeping those ends straight.
02:05 - Nice.
02:06 And what's your tip to do your own hair?
02:07 Like, I have so much hair
02:09 and every time I'm trying to do it,
02:11 I can't really see the back, obviously.
02:13 And it's so long.
02:14 Like, how do you do it?
02:15 - I always suggest working in sections.
02:18 - Okay.
02:19 - When you take the sections,
02:20 especially when you have so much hair like you and I,
02:22 it's so much easier to control it.
02:25 Also, when you work with smaller sections,
02:27 you're going to be able to create more texture.
02:30 Whereas if it's a chunkier section,
02:33 it's gonna be a little looser.
02:35 So I always like working in sections
02:37 no larger than the iron too.
02:39 I started prep with three key products
02:42 from my babes, Rene and Frederer.
02:44 I used the thermal protectant spray
02:46 'cause we gotta protect these tresses.
02:48 Worked with the blowout balm.
02:50 I absolutely love this.
02:51 This really helps to control humidity,
02:54 adds a nice gloss to the hair.
02:56 And then my favorite is the sculpting mousse.
02:59 I added this in as well,
03:00 just a little extra grit and volume
03:03 to make these tresses grow.
03:05 - Let me see.
03:06 Oh, hold on.
03:07 - Yeah, hold on.
03:07 Yeah, these are great.
03:09 So I'm a big fan of Rene and Frederer.
03:11 They are owned by Pierre Fab,
03:13 which is a French pharmaceutical company.
03:15 So a lot of ingredients are very organic.
03:18 - Smells good.
03:19 - And natural.
03:20 I've been using these on the red carpet
03:22 for the last two years now.
03:23 So they are my go-to style products.
03:26 And I actually use them on her hair
03:28 at the wedding as well.
03:30 So because we don't wanna sabotage her full look today,
03:35 I'm going to use a little bit of gel
03:39 to smooth out some of these baby hairs.
03:40 But I will tell you on the wedding night,
03:43 we went for it and we shellacked that hair.
03:48 - Oh yeah, I remember.
03:49 So that's what you did.
03:50 You first put the hair off and then you came in styling it.
03:53 - Correct.
03:55 Reason being, I just omitted half the issue.
03:58 I don't have to section out the hair.
03:59 It's done for me.
04:00 Would you squirt a little bit of that on my hands, please?
04:05 So this is the gel.
04:09 Just a little bit.
04:09 Perfect.
04:10 Thank you.
04:11 - Gel fixant.
04:12 - So we're gonna just do a little bit.
04:14 - So you would say you use this plus.
04:20 - Something else.
04:21 - When I did this your wedding night,
04:23 we did gel, we did wax, and we did hairspray.
04:27 'Cause I wanted it to have the most hold.
04:31 So as you were whipping your ponytail around,
04:34 you had perfect hair.
04:36 - So what else would you use?
04:42 What's the other product you are going to?
04:47 - I'm gonna finish with some hairspray
04:49 and more texture spray and shine spray.
04:51 And we're gonna rake comb this to really get that volume.
04:55 Remember how we pumped it up in through here at the end?
04:58 So I'm gonna come in and just add that back in
05:01 so you're given diva.
05:04 Another fun technique I love for volume,
05:10 catch this one, is I like to shake up.
05:17 - Adam, I love it.
05:20 - Queen, you made this one easy.
05:20 - It's like I'm really in the party again.
05:24 - Totally.
05:25 We're recreating the look, we had to.
05:27 This looks so good.
05:29 Yeah, I don't even wanna wrap that pony.
05:31 Thanks for coming to hang out with us.
05:32 - Thank you, thanks for hanging out with us.
05:35 - We'll see you soon.
