00:08 NHCCE 2023, at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre in Kuala Lumpur on Monday.

00:16 In his Royal Address, Aul Sultan Abdullah Riayatuddin Al Mustafa Bilashah urged the government and industry players

00:23 to work together and expand learning and development opportunities for the people.

00:29 Distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen,

00:32 After two challenging years, we are finally enjoying a period of economic stability,

00:39 backed by a growing labour participation rate, which stands at 70.1% as of July this year.

00:49 To continue our growth and recovery momentum, we all must continue to invest into our talents and workforce.

00:57 This is why efforts by the Ministry of Human Resources and HRD Corporation are crucial

01:05 in helping us to achieve this aim by creating the right policies

01:11 and ensuring the delivery of a structured mechanism for training and training funds.

01:18 I will also make to understand that the Ministry of Human Resources have also introduced various initiatives

01:26 to provide upskilling, placement, employment and income generation opportunities for communities in need,

01:35 such as single mothers, former prisoners, senior citizens and persons with disabilities.

01:44 These are good efforts to ensure that no one is left behind, and we can grow together as a nation.

01:52 With the initiatives put forward by the Ministry of Human Resources and the collective efforts of industry players,

02:00 I am confident that we can achieve our goal of having a 35% skilled workforce by 2030.

02:09 After the launch ceremony, the King was taken on a tour of the exhibition centre,
