00:00 "Rumor has it that it's blue because blue is your favorite color.
00:02 I don't even know if that's true."
00:03 "No, but I wish it was that simple, but it's a story.
00:07 I'm going to tell you a story."
00:09 Before landing on Blue Ivy Carter, Jay-Z and Beyoncé were crazy in love with another name.
00:16 And as the rapper reveals in part two of his October 27th interview with CBS Mornings,
00:23 it was almost a nod to Jay-Z's hometown.
00:26 "It was supposed to be Brooklyn.
00:27 That was the name we had in theory.
00:30 But when we got to, what do you call it, little sonograms?
00:33 You know, it's super small.
00:34 And we was calling her Blueberry.
00:35 Like, 'Look at the little blueberry!'
00:36 You know, it was like a nickname.
00:37 And for nine months, we were like, 'Look at the little blueberry!'"
00:43 So it was on to the next for the famous couple, who also share six-year-old twins Rumi and
00:49 Sir Carter.
00:50 "It was just natural.
00:51 We just took the berry off and just called her Blue."
00:55 And of course, the rest is history for their now 11-year-old.
00:58 "I still get goosebumps seeing her walk on stage.
01:01 It's because Blue's been born into this world.
01:05 She's been born into a life she didn't act.
01:07 So since she was born, she's been in scrutiny and public eye and everyone having an opinion."
01:13 As concertgoers witnessed this year, during Beyoncé's Renaissance World Tour, Blue Ivy
01:18 graced the stage alongside her mom for the very first time.
01:23 "To be on that stage and reclaim her power, and the song is called 'My Power,' and you
01:29 can't write a better script."
01:34 And while the musician knows firsthand that 99 problems can easily happen, Blue gave it
01:40 her all as a performer and didn't look back.
01:43 "I know her.
01:44 So I know how nervous she was.
01:46 I know how frightened she was.
01:50 And she wanted to do it.
01:51 She wanted to do it the first night, and we was like, 'Okay, if this is something you
01:55 want to do, you can't just go out there.
01:58 You gotta go work with the dancers and go work.'
02:01 And she worked every day."
02:02 "I know how nervous she was.
02:03 I know how frightened she was.
02:04 And she wanted to do it the first night, and we was like, 'Okay, if this is something
02:05 you want to do, you gotta go work with the dancers and go work.'
02:06 And she worked every day."
02:06 "I know how nervous she was.
02:07 I know how frightened she was.
02:08 And she wanted to do it the first night, and we was like, 'Okay, if this is something
02:09 you want to do, you gotta go work with the dancers and go work.'
02:10 And she worked every day."
