00:27 Prepared more than ever for Miss Universe, our guest is Sparkle's homegrown star, Michelle Marquez D.

00:34 Since winning Miss Universe Philippines, Michelle has been focusing on her training from the pasarela to question and answer and Spanish classes.

00:44 Michelle is 200% ready to represent Philippines in Miss Universe stage.

00:50 A lot of ups, a lot of downs, a lot of preparation but everything that happens has made me such an independent and strong woman that you're seeing today.

00:59 I can truly say that I'm in the best phase in my life to represent the country that we love.

01:04 Even though it's hard to be laughed at by a powerhouse country, she is ready to face the challenges.

01:11 I truly credit that to my parents.

01:13 They have accomplished so much in their life, not because it was given to them but because of the hard work that they put behind that process.

01:20 I always say trust the process.

01:22 I've learned that I've lived through that motto ever since I was young.

01:25 So it's all about the hard work and I can truly say that I've worked so much to get to where I am now that, you know, it just has to shine on stage.

01:37 Showbiz friends and pageant fans came to Michelle for her send-off events.

01:42 Michelle, you know that we're all here behind you, we're rooting for you and I know you have what it takes to really bring home the crown.

01:53 Michelle's mom, Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez, also sent a message to a fashion event in partnership with Thai Embassy.

02:03 I'm just very grateful that she's focused and she really gave herself 100% to really be the representative of our country.

02:12 Aside from her lucky charm, feeling empowered by Michelle while sporting a short look hair in Miss Universe stage.

02:20 My message is really just to continue to break boundaries, to change the stereotype.

02:24 You know that I'm not your typical pageant queen and I want everyone, even if it's just hair,

02:30 I just want everyone to be inspired that you don't have to fit into a certain mold to become Miss Universe Philippines.

02:35 So that's what I represent. I represent just being unapologetically authentic.
