A dog behaviour expert has advised owners to prepare their pets for fireworks by throwing loud house parties.
Rosie Bescoby, 38, revealed her tips for helping dogs feel less panicked around Bonfire Night.
She suggests playing recordings of fireworks and drum and bass music weeks before - to get them accustomed to loud noises.
She also recommends going for walks before it gets dark to avoid fireworks, building a den for your dog and distracting them with toys.

Hi, I'm Rosie and here's how we can prepare our dogs for fireworks.
00:04
Use sound recordings so that we can expose our dog to fireworks at a volume where they can remain relaxed.

00:17
We can also form positive associations with noises by producing a favourite toy or maybe a tasty titbit
00:24
as soon as your dog's ears prick in response to a sound.

00:34
Provide your dog with a safe, comfy hiding place that's available 24/7 and encourage its use from now.
00:42
Plug in an adaptil diffuser nearby for the month leading up to and over fireworks period.
00:48
If you're going to try body wraps or thunder shirts, trial them now so that you can make sure your dog is totally comfortable wearing them.
00:56
They can move freely and behave normally.
00:58
If your dog is noise sensitive or has shown a fear response to fireworks in the past,
01:03
take them to your vet because there's a strong link between undiagnosed pain and noise sensitivity.
