00:00 Okay, this this pass play, I'm past walking that guy, that's it.
00:05 I don't try to think about any other outside besides that.
00:08 >> Josh, a couple weeks ago we sat just for
00:11 us and there was some simplifying what's going on, kind of like you guys with Don.
00:15 Do you feel like you guys have been more aggressive getting the second level since
00:18 the simplifying happened?
00:19 >> Yeah, I think so.
00:20 I think you always, like I said, you always wanna be aggressive, but
00:25 at the same time you don't wanna be too aggressive where you're off balance.
00:28 And I think creating double teams is a good thing too when you're running
00:33 like a zone scheme, counter scheme, whatever.
00:35 You create double teams online, you're gonna get movement and
00:39 you're gonna get that knock back to get to the second level.
00:41 >> Josh, you went up to Wisconsin, you got the jump around tradition.
00:44 >> Yeah, yeah.
00:45 >> Are you excited to see what this is all about?
00:47 >> Yeah, I'm excited.
00:47 I've visited Wisconsin.
00:50 It was a great place, great atmosphere.
00:53 Yeah, I'm excited to see the jump around in the third quarter.
00:56 I'm excited to see the start of the game.
00:59 I like away games.
01:01 Silent count I don't like, but I gotta deal with that.
01:04 So yeah.
01:05 >> Were you there for an actual game?
01:07 >> Can I ask a couple questions?
01:07 >> When you visited?
01:09 >> No, I went when it was middle of winter and me and my dad were driving and
01:17 Madison was in between the two lakes and we saw people ice fishing.
01:20 It was really cool.
01:22 >> Yeah, it is, but he came this way.
01:23 >> Yeah, you never really see people ice fishing like that and
01:27 they're like, are they gonna fall in?
01:29 That's what I was thinking.
01:30 >> Josh, just the last couple of games, especially with the last game,
01:34 there were many instances where you could see the offensive line just coming off.
01:39 I mean, how long ago worked that?
01:42 You know what I mean?
01:43 You always work at that, but
01:44 do you feel like something's really coming around with this group at this moment?
01:47 >> Yeah, I think it was just like Coach Fry said,
01:51 I think simplifying a lot of things makes our lives easier.
01:55 Cuz if you complicate things too much, you start overthinking,
01:58 you start not throwing off the ball.
01:59 Yeah, so I think what Coach Fry had done with the simplification of it was really
02:05 good. >> Can you talk about going silent?
02:07 >> Go ahead.
02:09 >> The communication factor, I know you talked about that earlier in the year.
02:12 That's different on the road, it's different in a situation like this.
02:17 How much more confident are you that you guys have worked through some of those
02:20 issues and can handle that in this environment?
02:23 >> Yeah, well, the start of the silent cadence was Notre Dame,
02:26 cuz we knew it was obviously gonna be loud, a 7.30 game.
02:30 That's when the first time I really had to focus on it.
02:32 And it's actually easier once you get the rhythm down.
02:39 And but at the same time, you can't have a rhythm to it where the defensive
02:44 guy knows what's coming.
02:46 So it's, like I said, I think it's a balance between that stuff.
02:50 So yeah.
02:52 >> How have you seen Kenyatta Jackson grow as a complete defensive end?
02:56 >> Kenyatta, he's got all the tools in the world to being a very special
03:00 defensive end.
03:01 I think he's grown in reading not offensive line stance,
03:07 but reading the offensive formation.
03:10 Okay, if he's lined up here, I know that he might do this, this, or this.
03:14 So I gotta do this.
03:15 I think his development and his mind of the steps he's gotta take
03:21 has led him to play faster and more aggressive than I've seen Kenyatta play.
