00:00 Welcome to Mojo Plays and today we're hunting for secrets and Easter Eggs you might have
00:05 missed in some of the PS5's most recent releases.
00:09 The premiere, premiere, premiere exhibit of wonders in the galaxy.
00:14 Disco Resurrection - Goat Simulator 3
00:17 I should really start explaining things before this intro ends.
00:21 Don't have too much roll left.
00:23 Look, we're almost there.
00:24 Okay, so where do I begin?
00:25 The Goat Simulator series has never, not even once, taken itself seriously, and the game's
00:36 ridiculous nature also carries over to its Easter Eggs as well.
00:41 There are of course no shortage of fun gags as well as nods to other franchises, but most
00:46 if not all of these have been goatified to fit in with the game's ludicrous premise.
00:52 However, you can play as a human character if you go to Liberty Island and baa your little
00:57 goat hard out until the rock dawns a halo and ascends, allowing you to bound your way
01:03 into the cave.
01:05 Once inside, you'll find what can only be described as Disco Jesus, and if you step
01:10 onto the rock where he's resting, you can become the man himself and not only dress
01:16 how you like with the game's numerous cosmetics, but also offer salvation one baa at a time.
01:28 A fantastic nod.
01:30 Marvel's Midnight Suns
01:39 Marvel's Midnight Suns manages to build quite a roster of recruitable heroes throughout
01:44 its campaign, along with additional characters being added through DLC.
01:50 But there's one famous family suspiciously absent from the rest of the Marvel lineup.
01:55 But this doesn't mean there aren't still hints of their existence within the universe.
02:01 Besides collectible tarot cards for each member of the Fantastic Family, as well as t-shirts
02:06 emboldened with their heroic logo, in the Abbey Gardens, players can also find a broken
02:12 stained glass window with only the Fantastic Four logo in the center remaining undamaged.
02:18 However, the biggest hint to Marvel's first family comes in the post-credits scene, revealing
02:24 Doctor Doom emerging from a portal and stealing the Darkhold.
02:28 Whether this is a sequel tease or a future DLC remains to be seen, however.
02:41 Praise the Jump
02:42 The Stanley Parable - Ultra Deluxe
02:48 The Stanley Parable is, without a doubt, one of the most self-aware games ever made.
02:55 With its narrator somehow constantly critiquing your every action and choice, the game has
03:00 a seemingly endless number of responses to any given action.
03:05 However, with the release of the Ultra Deluxe Edition, Crows Crows Crows finally added a
03:10 much-requested feature, the Jump Circle.
03:14 But they weren't just going to add this feature without mocking the player for using
03:18 it to find out-of-bounds areas.
03:21 By climbing a section of cardboard boxes and crawling through a vent, players can find
03:25 a glowing marker from seemingly another player or one of Stanley's co-workers claiming
03:31 players should "Praise the Jump" in the same vein of players leaving messages for
03:35 one another in From Software's Elden Ring and Dark Souls series.
03:45 It Takes a Way Out - It Takes Two
03:56 Joseph Ferris' follow-up to A Way Out was not only a surprise by far exceeding its sales
04:02 projections, but it also even won Game of the Year at the 2021 Game Awards show.
04:08 However, that doesn't mean Joseph forgot about his previous two-player adventure, A
04:13 Way Out, or its protagonists, Vincent and Leo.
04:16 In Chapter 3, players can find figurines of these two prison escapees, and jumping on
04:21 their buttons will make each character recite some of their lines from their game.
04:30 This isn't the only Easter egg in this chapter, either.
04:34 After climbing to the top of the Pillow Fort, players can direct an antenna to pick up radio
04:38 signals, and one of the broadcasts happens to be Ferris' famous rant at the 2017 Game
04:44 Awards word-for-word.
04:53 The Collector's Collection - Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy
05:05 Much like James Gunn's adaptations of the offbeat space-faring heroes, Eidos Montreal's
05:10 Guardians adventure was chock-full of secrets, Easter eggs, and nods to the wider Marvel
05:15 universe overall.
05:17 And nowhere in the game is this better represented than in the Collector's Emporium, which houses
05:23 over 20 objects of varying rarity, all on display, complete with descriptions and backstories.
05:30 While there's obviously too many to name here, some of our favorites are Kang's Time
05:35 Chair, Yondu's Yaka Arrow, Eye of the Watcher, the Cosmic Cube, and best of all, Throg, Frog
05:42 of Thunder.
05:44 The Collector's Emporium is very easy to miss, and honestly quite expensive to visit
05:49 during your time on Nowhere, but it's undeniably a treat for true Marvel fans.
06:04 B.T.
06:05 Lisa - Death Stranding, Director's Cut
06:15 Like all Hideo Kojima's games, narrowing this down to one Easter egg was quite the
06:20 challenge.
06:22 From nods to other franchises as well as countless celebrity cameos, there's no shortage of
06:27 secrets for players to uncover.
06:29 However, for this entry, we wanted to highlight a completely random event the player might
06:35 not even encounter in their entire playthrough.
06:39 During one of Sam's trips back to base, he'll awaken from a nap and discover a shadowed
06:43 figure in his shower.
06:45 Approaching the shower will cause the figure to convulse violently before seemingly breaking
06:50 free and providing one of the few genuine jump scares in the game.
06:55 Many believe this shadowed figure to be the ghost of Lisa from the cancelled P.T. that
07:00 was set to be Kojima's take on the iconic horror series, Silent Hill.
07:05 Seems we might not be the only ones mourning the game's untimely demise.
07:16 A Stray's Half-Life - Stray Stray instantly became one of the breakout
07:22 hits of 2022, with fans everywhere falling in love with the Orange Tabby's exploits
07:28 in a robot post-apocalyptic world.
07:31 While a lot of love and care went into crafting their own world in Stray, developer BlueTwelve
07:37 Studios also paid homage to one of the greatest post-apocalyptic games of all time, Half-Life
07:43 2.
07:44 During the opening of Half-Life 2, Gordon arrives in City 17 on a tram car, and in the
07:50 midtown chapter of Stray, our kiddie friend finds a very familiar looking train car, and
07:56 resting on the seat is Gordon's go-to melee weapon of choice, the classic crowbar.
08:03 Berserker Ring - Final Fantasy XVI There is no shortage of weapons and gear for
08:18 Clive to find and upgrade during his exploits in the world of Valisthea, but some can be
08:23 easily missed if you're not diligently helping your fellow bearers.
08:28 Completing side quests will reward the player with renown, and various patrons who believe
08:33 in your cause will offer donations, and the higher your renown, the greater the reward.
08:39 Arguably one of the most useful rewards is the innocuous Berserker Ring.
08:44 Once equipped, if Clive performs a perfect dodge, he will gain access to some of his
08:50 Limit Break abilities, and his sword will automatically ignite for additional damage.
08:55 This effect can also be stacked the more perfect dodges the player lands in a row, making it
09:01 incredibly useful for those tougher encounters.
09:05 Whatever you do, do NOT accidentally sell this one-of-a-kind item.
09:16 The Forbidden Meadows - Forspoken While traversing the vast and mostly empty
09:22 landscape of Forspoken discovering landmarks, you might have happened upon a seemingly impenetrable
09:28 fortress in the Harvestlands.
09:30 With its enormous locked door, the structure was clearly designed to keep intruders out.
09:36 Not only that, but the game repeatedly tells the player that they're in combat despite
09:41 no enemies present.
09:43 This is all by design, and players will need to head southeast to find the Altar of Ahsan
09:49 and defeat the enemies that spawn to reveal a portal that will allow you inside the Forbidden
09:54 Meadows fortress and all the treasures that were guarded within.
09:58 Origami Callbacks - Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut
10:08 Many of Sony's first-party studios like to pay homage to the other developers under Sony's
10:13 umbrella, and Sucker Punch's Ghost of Tsushima is no different.
10:18 Granted they might be a bit harder to spot given the time period the game is set in,
10:22 the team nonetheless found a clever way to include nods to their fellow creators.
10:28 Within the ruins of a dilapidated cottage, Jin will find one area untouched by the pillagers
10:34 rummaging.
10:35 On the table are origami figures of some of Sony's other biggest franchises such as Shadow
10:41 of the Colossus, God of War, Ratchet & Clank, and even Gran Turismo.
10:53 Thor's Wound - God of War Ragnarok
11:03 The first climactic battle between Kratos and Thor was a long time coming, and it did
11:09 not disappoint.
11:11 During their clash, Kratos strikes what would be a mortal wound for any other ungodly combatant,
11:18 but as we see throughout the rest of our time in Ragnarok, Thor's wound never heals.
11:23 We've seen most of the gods within the Nine Realms take quite a lot of damage and eventually
11:28 shake it off, Kratos included, but Thor's gut wound remains festering throughout.
11:34 This detail, as it turns out, calls back to Kratos and Atreus' first meeting with Jormungandr,
11:41 in which the serpent imbues the Leviathan Axe with its poison Aetir.
11:46 It would seem even at the start of their journey, the world's serpent was preparing Kratos
11:50 for his battle against Thor, as it's the serpent's poison that prevents Thor's wound from properly
11:56 healing.
12:04 Insomniac's Spider-Man swung onto the scene in 2018 and instantly became a fan favorite
12:23 among webheads, and the acclaimed developer followed up their surprise hit with another
12:28 banger in 2020 with a new adventure focused on Miles Morales' early days as the new Spider-Man.
12:36 Early on in his solo outing, Miles is trying to wrangle a rampaging rhino as he smashes
12:41 his way through a crowded mall during holiday shopping.
12:45 As Rhino jumps from one balcony to another, he grabs a familiar looking decoration on
12:51 the way.
12:52 This is Insomniac's company logo, cleverly hidden within the other holiday festivities
12:57 in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment that is admittedly difficult to catch on your first
13:02 playthrough due to the chaos unfolding around the Spider-Man.
13:17 Sea Shanty - Dead Space
13:30 As the Ishimura was about to meet its end at the claws and severed limbs of the Necromorphs,
13:36 the marker led much of the remaining crew to lose their minds.
13:40 However, for those who came to investigate the aftermath, some were able to leave hidden
13:44 messages for their doomed rescuers to decipher.
13:48 In song form!
13:50 Within the break rooms, particularly the ones with the staticky image of the marker, Scrawl
13:55 on the ground are a series of actions for Isaac to perform which will unlock a hidden
14:00 audio recording of the crew recounting the events that led to the infestation of the
14:04 Necromorphs as well as their hope for an inevitable rescue that would arrive too late all in the
14:10 form of the popular Sea Shanty Wellerman.
14:14 It's as catchy as it is unsettling.
14:26 Technical T-Rex - Astro's Playroom
14:35 Nearly everything in the PS5's pack-in game Astro's Playroom pays homage to Sony's popular
14:41 consoles, but the final boss's significance might have gone unnoticed by only the most
14:47 diehard of Sony fanboys.
14:50 Just before the PS1's release in 1994, Sony gave a presentation to demonstrate the power
14:56 of the PS1, and the star of the show was one of the most realistic T-Rex animations outside
15:02 of Jurassic Park.
15:04 Everything about the T-Rex during the start of the final boss fight is lifted almost directly
15:09 from the PS1's official tech demo, complete with the slightly stuttery animation and even
15:15 the aspect ratio.
15:23 Alien Abduction - Gran Turismo 7
15:26 You wouldn't think the polyphony Super Serious Racing Sim would have a lot of Easter Eggs
15:31 hidden within it, but the developers of Sony's flagship racer seem to have quite a lot of
15:36 fun with hiding secrets for only the most dedicated of players to discover.
15:41 Seemingly wanting to up the stakes from hiding the Loch Ness Monster in the last three entries,
15:46 polyphony upped the ante, and if players park their car and wait a decent amount of time
15:51 at the curve near the onlookers on Mount Panorama, in the distance you can witness a UFO slowly
15:57 descend and abduct an unsuspecting cow.
16:01 And if the players use the game's photo mode, they can see that just like the hundreds of
16:06 cars in the game, the UFO has a suspiciously impressive amount of detail.
16:11 Is there something else polyphony isn't telling us?
16:14 The Secret Door - Demon's Souls
16:22 With one notable exception, Bluepoint's remake of FromSoftware's original Demon's Souls is
16:28 a near one-to-one faithful remake.
16:31 The key difference being a secret door that taunted fans with its hidden secrets and possibilities
16:37 after launch.
16:38 The community immediately came together to solve the mystery, which even included callbacks
16:43 to Bluepoint's previous remake of Shadow of the Colossus.
16:47 By collecting at minimum 26 ceramic coins scattered throughout the game in Fractured
16:53 mode, players trade the coins to the crow for the Rusty Key, which unlocks the door
16:58 hidden behind an illusionary wall.
17:00 And inside, players can find the Penetrator's armor, which also happens to be a boss in
17:06 the game.
17:07 And now superfans and those dedicated enough can wear his armor with pride as they battle
17:13 their way through Boletaria.
17:19 Sylens' Tribute - Horizon Forbidden West - The Burning Shores
17:29 Portrayed brilliantly by Lance Reddick, Sylens became an uneasy ally during the events of
17:34 Horizon Zero Dawn as well as its sequel, Forbidden West.
17:39 Seemingly always looking out for his own interests, Sylens eventually realized there was a greater
17:44 threat on the horizon and teamed up with Aloy and company.
17:49 Sadly, Lance Reddick passed away shortly before the release of Forbidden West DLC The Burning
17:54 Shores, and shortly after, Guerrilla Games paid homage to the late actor with a memorial
18:00 appropriately overlooking the Hollywood sign.
18:03 This isn't the only honorary site in Forbidden West either.
18:07 On a small island, Aloy will find a shrine dedicated to Patrick Munich, one of the lead
18:12 producers at Guerrilla Games who also sadly passed away.
18:16 Aloy will also find a note left behind and read the eulogy aloud for the developer's
18:21 lost friend and co-worker.
18:32 Rhino 8 - Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart
18:43 As we already stated, the devs at Sony Studios love to honor their fellow creators by including
18:49 nods to their games and characters, but Insomniac truly went above and beyond with Ratchet & Clank
18:55 Rift Apart.
18:56 Making full use of the game's central mechanic of multiversal rifts as well as the series's
19:02 iconic Rhino, or Rip You a New One for newcomers, once fully upgraded, this gun will drop in
19:08 familiar friends, foes, and even objects from some of PlayStation's most iconic franchises.
19:15 These include Jack from Naughty Dog's Jack and Daxter series, Sly Cooper as well as his
19:20 van from Sucker Punch's Sly series, a thunder jaw and sawtooth from Guerrilla Games' Horizon
19:26 series, as well as callbacks to Insomniac's own catalog with the likes of Sunset Overdrive's
19:32 Fizzy dropping in to say hello.
19:44 Extra Secret Ending - Returnal
19:57 Simply reaching the ending of Housemarque's roguelike can be challenging enough, but for
20:01 those wanting the true ending of the game, you're going to have to work that much harder
20:06 for it.
20:07 The game's plot might already be a mind trip, but the extra secret ending players can unlock
20:13 does manage to answer at least a few more of the player's burning questions about the
20:17 world of Returnal.
20:19 To unlock the secret ending, you're going to have to play through the game a second
20:23 time, this time collecting artifacts known as Sunface Fragments.
20:28 But these appear randomly throughout the world, so prepare to live, die, and repeat numerous
20:34 times to collect them all.
20:37 Returning to the house and picking up the car keys, and after beating Ophian a second
20:41 time, and then using the keys on the car will unlock the secret ending.
20:56 The Office Remake - The Last of Us Part 1
21:05 While many bemoan the need for a remake of Naughty Dog's iconic 2013 release of The
21:09 Last of Us, there's no denying the game was a gorgeous overhaul.
21:13 And while the game's accessibility as well as graphics seemed to be the only things the
21:17 remake updated, some players found a familiar location in Pittsburgh that also received
21:23 a facelift.
21:24 While not immediately noticeable, especially for those unfamiliar with the show, the abandoned
21:29 offices have been updated from their original incarnations to resemble the offices of Dunder
21:35 Mifflin from the ever-popular Steve Carell series.
21:39 The placement of Pam's desk as well as a couch near the entrance, and the conference
21:43 room and even Dwight and Jim's desks are unmistakable.
21:48 Only some diehard fan at Naughty Dog saw an opportunity and took it.
22:07 -Thanks for watching!
