00:00 As we all aware festivals are around the corner and I personally believe your
00:06 preparations would have already begun.
00:09 Hello everybody and welcome to this very special festive edition. Today I'm going
00:14 to show you something very special. I'm going to show you how to declutter your
00:17 kitchen because I personally believe kitchens are possibly one of the most
00:22 neglected areas in our homes. Also through the course of the video I'm
00:26 going to introduce you to a stunning range of kitchen essentials by our
00:30 friends at ThinKitchen.in. Let's dive in right in. Let's begin.
00:34 Well I have three fantastic products with me. One, two and three. The first one
00:44 is a Kohl and Mason spice and herb carousel. Now this is a set of 16 herbs
00:49 and spices of course in the form of a carousel. Now we often blame ourselves
00:53 and we are guilty of keeping our herbs and spices either in the open or in the
00:58 packet itself. Now in this case I have this fantastic apparatus which keeps
01:02 everything airtight in the form of a carousel. Now this one has a two-tiered
01:08 jar carousel. This ensures that this one takes minimum space in your kitchen. This
01:14 sits easily in the cupboard or even on your kitchen worktops. When it comes to
01:19 storing dry ingredients I usually prefer storage jars just like this one. Now this
01:24 is a ThinKitchen's three-piece storage by Joseph Joseph. Now this ensures that
01:29 the food remains compact, it remains airtight and does not get rancid.
01:35 You know sometimes using stackable storage could be quite a problem because
01:42 suppose you want something which is at the bottom of the pile you need to start
01:46 removing everything from the top to reach at the bottom of the pile. Now in
01:49 this case this is so ergonomically kind of packaged and created that even if you
01:54 have to reach the bottom of the pile you can reach with ease.
01:59 One problem we all face in the kitchen is where to store elongated food products.
02:11 Now for this I have ThinKitchen's faceted clip-top jar by Kilna. This ensures
02:17 that the elongated foods like pasta, breadsticks, especially things like
02:20 spaghetti stay undisturbed and unbroken. These products not just make my kitchen
02:27 look neat and accessible but also ensures that they add in a touch of
02:31 elegance and just like this my kitchen becomes much tidier. Let's now move on to
02:37 our next section and that is the worktop. Now worktop again to me needs to be
02:42 spacious, it needs to be convenient and because there is so much happening
02:46 during festival times it is important to use kitchen essentials which are
02:51 stackable. Now that way the space is really in check. What I find most helpful
02:57 is this whole set of space-saving products. Now this one specially is
03:03 ThinKitchen's set of two mixing bowls, a colander, a juicer by Brabantia. Now let me
03:09 quickly show this to you. A large bowl, we have a colander, small mixing bowl and
03:20 finally a juicer. Now the best part about all of this is this is stackable and
03:25 takes little to no space. Isn't this fantastic? Next I have here with me is
03:33 Joseph Joseph Nestboards Plus six knife and chopping board set. Now this ensures
03:38 that there's safety in the kitchen, there's stackability in the kitchen, it
03:42 also ensures that everything is neat, compact ensuring that my kitchen is
03:46 steady and safe at all given times.
03:51 We all make and enjoy a variety of cuisines and it's fair to assume that
03:55 with every cuisine or every dish will of course need multiple spatulas. Now if you
04:00 don't have I would highly recommend you buy something like this where everything
04:04 is stacked neatly and orderly. This will also ensure that the kitchen or the
04:08 worktop rather is clutter-free. Now in case you do not have spatulas you will
04:13 end up buying four or five different ones for sure. In that case you have
04:17 something which is thoughtfully been created and for this my personal choice
04:21 is Joseph Joseph five piece utensil set. Quick two cents from me, the first one of
04:27 course is hygiene. Whenever you choose your vegetables and bring them in the
04:31 kitchen it's imperative to wash them nicely, clean them, peel them and then put
04:36 to use. The second one is of course safety. Now every time ensure that you
04:41 keep your flammables, inflammables away from the stove because of course safety
04:46 is of paramount importance. So hygiene, safety and now coming to spaciousness.
04:52 I personally over the years have come to realization that spaciousness in a
04:56 kitchen is not just comforting but also ensures that we kind of work with ease.
05:01 Imagine you have big mixers and grinders and things like that. A clutter-free
05:05 spacious kitchen always ensures that you work with a free mind. Now you see it's a
05:11 whole mess, a beautiful mess of a lot of colors and things like that. Let's
05:16 declutter this, let's get this nice and stacked and evenly done. So let's start
05:20 moving things around.
05:41 Now if you see our kitchen is looking clean, neat and well organized. Let's move
05:46 on to our third segment and that is the refrigeration space, the refrigerator.
05:53 Well this is how our refrigerator looks on a daily basis. Well not just for
05:59 Diwali or any festive season, I personally suggest you keep your
06:03 refrigerator clean as you keep going because one of course you're taking out
06:07 the hygiene and safety of your family and friends. Secondly it just becomes
06:12 easy and convenient while cooking. Now for this what I've done is all the
06:16 fruits, vegetables and whatever things that are cut, processed and ready have
06:20 been wonderfully stacked in this four container set by Joseph and Joseph. Now
06:25 this is a set which of course is leak-proof, it's lightweight, it maintains
06:29 the right level of humidity in the container so that the vegetables remain
06:33 fresh and odor-free for a long time. Next I have here with me is a whole set of
06:38 Kilner juice and sauce bottles. Now because it's a festive season we end up
06:42 making a lot of juices, we make a lot of syrups and squashes, we end up making a
06:46 lot of sauces. Now the whole crux is where do we keep all of this so that it
06:50 remains safe, odor-free, hygienic for a longer time. So here we have a nice
06:58 wonderful tomato sauce. I have these vegetables which I've cut and kept ready
07:02 for a quick toss salad. Well this one for the uninitiated is a 1 liter clip-top
07:08 square jar by Kilner. I have this butter dish, a butter tray, all of this by Kilner
07:17 and then I have this homemade juice done and ready. Well one thing which is very
07:25 important while decluttering, well not just for Diwali or festive occasions but
07:29 ensure you make it a part of your daily habits. What's very important is to
07:33 ensure that the vegetables, fruits, dairy and things like that are all even kept
07:37 separately in different containers because that way you kind of avoid
07:41 cross-contamination. Extremely important. Things like juices, squashes, sauces, pulps,
07:47 purees, we anyway would choose different bottles and different jars but
07:50 especially when it comes to vegetables ensure that the cross-contamination is
07:54 as good as zero. Well I've had an extremely fantastic time decluttering my
08:00 kitchen. This for me is the start for many such festivals and many such days
08:04 and many such occasions. I hope you make this wonderful start today and right now.
08:10 With this I wish you all a very happy fun-filled, light-filled, hearts-filled
08:16 Diwali for you and your family. Until next time lots of delicious food but
08:20 also remember the fact that the kitchen should be neat, tidy, spacious and more
08:25 importantly decluttered. Bye for now.
08:29 you
