00:00 I can never expect a neighbor, I mean, I can never imagine to expect something like that.
00:05 Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the most infamous cases
00:10 of terrible people who caused nearby residents a whole lot of trouble with their grim, often
00:16 illegal behavior, only for them to see some delightful consequences.
00:21 They just kept pushing and pushing my wrong button, and it got to a point where I just
00:26 basically blew up and maybe did the wrong thing.
00:31 Number 10.
00:32 "Shape of You" For months, Claire Tidmarsh in Wollongong,
00:43 England had endured one loud party after another from neighbor Sonia Bryce.
00:48 After complaining to her landlord, Bryce was given a court order for being a nuisance,
00:53 which she broke numerous times and was arrested.
00:57 But in 2017, Tidmarsh reached her breaking point when Bryce played Ed Sheeran's "Shape
01:02 of You" loudly for half an hour.
01:10 Bryce was dragged back to court and sentenced to eight weeks in prison for the noise attack.
01:15 Another famous case of noise bombardment came in 2006 with Miyoko Kawahara in the Nara Prefecture
01:22 in Japan.
01:23 Kawahara was given a 20-month jail sentence for, among other things, playing loud music
01:29 for unconscionable periods of time.
01:36 Number 9.
01:37 "Slayer of Lawns" After calling police 40 times that year, Torres
01:42 finally got a restraining order.
01:45 According to Bob Daragopian in Miami-Dade, Florida, the problem began in 2008 when he
01:50 hired a landscape company, ignoring the business that belonged to his neighbor, Mitchell Igelco.
01:56 For four years, Igelco sought revenge against everyone.
02:00 He reportedly destroyed people's lawns with chemicals, threw eggs at cars, threatened
02:05 violence, set fire to a boat, and put nails on driveways and roads.
02:11 Francisco Torres says he installed a $70,000 security system equipped with 10 surveillance
02:16 cameras after he claims his neighbors started harassing him.
02:20 With all the CCTV evidence the neighbors had collected, Igelco was arrested in 2012 and
02:25 charged with stalking and criminal mischief.
02:28 For that, he received five years of probation.
02:32 He later claimed this neighborly reign of terror started when he saw a resident hurt
02:37 his dog and he lost control.
02:39 Igelco's lawyer, though, says the judge granted a delay and that his client is now trying
02:44 to make things right.
02:45 He is making heroic efforts to move out of the neighborhood.

02:49 Color Rage For 14 years, retired couple Mavis and Alan
02:54 Ward in Thornton Cleveland, England, felt the wrath of Kirstie Robertson.
02:59 She regularly abused them verbally, broke into their garden to destroy plants, and threw
03:04 things at their bungalow.
03:06 At one point, she stared at Alan and drew a finger across her throat.
03:11 Yikes.
03:12 And what sort of trigger caused this tirade of harassment?
03:21 It must have been pretty horrible, right?
03:24 Yeah, no.
03:26 Robertson reportedly hated the color of Ward's property.
03:30 After eight attempts to get justice, the time finally came for the retirees in 2015 when
03:36 Robertson was handed a four-year restraining order that banned her from contacting the
03:41 couple in person or virtually.

03:45 Fiery Grass Many of us have seen a neighbor whose grass
03:58 is too long or plants are overgrown.
04:02 Most of us just criticize them quietly in our own heads.
04:05 But Philip Bennett took a much more drastic option in 2013 in Cartersville, Georgia.
04:11 He was livid that the Corbett family had let the grass grow too tall.
04:23 After arguing about it, Bennett later slapped Marty.
04:26 Then, a week after it began, an unhinged Bennett threw a brick through Corbett's window, poured
04:33 gasoline into the house and around the property and set it afire.
04:38 While Marty and his daughter got out, the house was destroyed.
04:41 Bennett, who was on parole for manslaughter, was arrested for arson.
04:46 The Corbetts are just happy that the man charged with destroying their lives will face justice
04:51 in a court of law.

04:56 Hacker from Hell In 2008, Matt and Bethany Kostolnik moved
05:08 into their new home in Blaine, Minnesota.
05:11 And into a nightmare.
05:13 When neighbor Barry Ardolph behaved inappropriately with their son, the Kostolniks reported him
05:18 to the police.
05:20 In retaliation, Ardolph began a campaign of harassment by hacking into their Wi-Fi.
05:26 He forged emails indicating Matt was having an affair and made it look like Matt had been
05:31 accessing illegal content, among other things.
05:35 But Ardolph's plan fell apart when he used Matt's account to send a violent threat to
05:40 Joe Biden.
05:41 The FBI traced it to Ardolph, searched his home and discovered his deeds.
05:46 In 2011, as well as losing his job, Ardolph was sentenced to 18 years in prison.

05:54 Cruel in Crawley For decades, Gordon Clark has been a massive
05:59 problem for a community in Crawley, England.
06:02 Examples?
06:03 He sang "Another One Bites the Dust" after hearing about a neighbor with a terminal illness.
06:15 He also applauded at a funeral procession, fired air rifles and burned plastic to create
06:21 a noxious smell to haunt his neighbors.
06:24 Clark had been handed anti-social behavior orders for his antics, but they did little
06:30 to deter him even when they resulted in short prison stints.
06:34 In 2012, Clark's harassment sentence included a one-year community order, 150 hours of unpaid
06:41 work and a £300 fine.
06:44 His 2022 sentence for animal neglect was suspended.
06:51 4.
06:55 Neighborhood Stalker In 2009, Jason Clark put up a massive fence
07:00 and cameras around his property in Montgomery, Alabama and slowly began stockpiling weapons.
07:07 He then spent years terrorizing his neighbors in a litany of ways.
07:19 On top of physically attacking and violently threatening people, he also flashed strobe
07:24 lights at drivers hoping they'd crash.
07:27 Clark also shot at people's homes and sprayed poison on the lawns and gardens of neighbors,
07:33 leading to the demise of a neighbor's dog.
07:36 This reign of terror caused several residents to move away.
07:40 After a lot of legal battles over the years, it came to a head in 2016 when Clark was sentenced
07:46 on two counts of stalking, earning 40 years in prison.

08:01 Neighbor's Demon For months, residents of an apartment complex
08:12 in Long Beach, California lived in fear of Lorene Mae Lake, who wreaked havoc on her
08:18 neighbors with her hateful ways.
08:21 She racially abused people, vividly threatened them, and even bit and spat at one person.
08:27 One resident was concerned that at any point, Lake might start shooting folk.
08:37 Even after being arrested and getting a restraining order, Lake continued her campaign of terror.
08:43 But in 2022, thanks to a whole host of evidence, including a video of Lake holding a rope and
08:48 threatening a resident, she was arrested by the cops and charged with several counts.
09:03 In 2023, she was sent to a two-year diversion program and received substance abuse treatment.

09:12 PH Disaster They checked the appliances, hoping to determine
09:15 the source of the smell, but couldn't.
09:17 A month later, Umar says his eyes started to burn and his daughter was coughing and
09:21 throwing up.
09:22 In 2023, Umar Abdullah and his family were going through hell.
09:27 Their apartment smelled strongly of chemicals, causing his infant daughter to become ill.
09:32 Even after getting plumbers and cleaners to check appliances and getting the all clear,
09:36 the problem remained.
09:38 After Abdullah found a small crack by the front door and the heavy smell of chemicals,
09:43 he set up a camera.
09:45 Soon, PhD student Zuming Li was seen squeezing a concoction in the gap.
09:52 He had used the lab at the University of South Florida to mix together powerful opioids.
10:04 Allegedly to get vengeance for a noise complaint.
10:07 Li was charged with several crimes, including stalking and possessing controlled substances.
10:13 He pleaded not guilty and is set to be tried in December 2023.

10:42 Long-Term Harassment
10:44 But the Hoffmans were about to learn walking away from the wrath of Lori Christensen wouldn't
10:49 be that simple.
10:50 In 2013, Lori Christensen gained national infamy for her reign of terror against her
10:57 neighbors Greg and Kim Hoffman in White Bear Lake, Minnesota.
11:02 Christensen would yell expletives at their children, put up signs mocking Kim's battle
11:06 with alcohol, and threaten them with violence, resulting in over 100 calls to the cops.
11:13 And it all started after their daughters fell out in 1999.
11:31 After violating a restraining order, Christensen was eventually arrested and sentenced to five
11:36 years of probation, a $200 fine, 50 hours of community service, and counseling.
11:44 Christensen returned to the news in 2021 when she was arrested for harassing new people
11:49 in a different neighborhood, using the same terror tropes as before.
