00:00 Happy birthday to you. We love you.
00:05 Suzanne Summers family celebrates
00:10 what would have been her 77th
00:12 birthday with cake candles and a
00:14 whole lot of joy. This is the
00:16 cake that we had made for my
00:19 mother for her birthday today.
00:20 Suzanne's husband, Alan Hamill,
00:22 and son Bruce Summers Junior,
00:24 paid tribute to the late actress
00:26 by lighting candles on the cake
00:28 that the family intended to enjoy
00:30 on her special day. Suzanne
00:31 love cake love cake.
00:33 We would go to weddings.
00:37 And we'd get there and I'd say,
00:39 how well do you know these people?
00:41 'cause I'd never heard of her.
00:42 She said I've only met them once.
00:45 Actually, she was there for the cake.
00:47 Happy birthday dear.
00:48 In the caption, they thanked fans
00:52 for the outpouring of love and
00:54 affection for Suzanne, who died Sunday.
00:56 Just one day shy of turning 77 and
00:59 for anyone wanting to support the family,
01:01 they say the most comforting gesture
01:03 is to hear how Suzanne affected
01:06 all of your lives, suggesting fans
01:08 leave comments on her website.
01:10 It helps for us to hear how her
01:12 legacy of love lives on in all of you.
01:15 The overwhelming outpouring of
01:17 love from everyone is is heartfelt,
01:19 and it but it's a whole additional
01:22 way of saying thank you for
01:24 everything that you've done for
01:26 us and it's a whole additional
01:28 wave of emotion as well.
01:29 You know, we we started off with
01:32 thousands of people in tens of
01:34 thousands of people in hundreds
01:35 of thousands of people, and it's
01:38 amazing all over the world.
01:39 People aren't just writing in.
01:41 I feel badly for you.
01:43 My condolences.
01:44 They poured out their hearts.
01:45 Suzanne's longtime friend and publicist
01:47 confirmed her death on Sunday after
01:50 battling cancer for 23 years,
01:51 saying she died at 5:00 AM,
01:53 surrounded by her loving family,
01:55 her loving husband, Allen,
01:56 her son Bruce and her immediate family.
01:59 It was with her.
02:02 In bed 5 o'clock in the morning,
02:04 but it was peaceful.
02:05 I was glad that our whole family
02:08 could come and see her and it
02:10 was beautiful experience.
02:12 Following the news of Suzanne's death,
02:14 friends and fans were quick to
02:16 share their condolences,
02:17 including Julianne Huff and Peter
02:19 Murgatroyd, who were both pros.
02:21 This season, Suzanne competed
02:22 on Dancing with the Stars.
02:24 It's a loss for sure,
02:26 and the dancing with this.
02:28 The Stars family.
02:29 I know we were definitely feeling it
02:31 and wanted to obviously say something
02:33 with our thoughts and our prayers.
02:35 I'm just sending love and and just
02:37 gratitude her way and her family's way.
02:40 I saw it in the news and my heart just
02:43 saying she was a beacon of light.
02:45 She was so beautiful,
02:47 such a kind and warm person and I just
02:50 I send my condolences to her family.
02:52 It's tragic, tragic.
02:53 And earlier in the week,
02:55 Suzanne's dance partner,
02:56 Tony Dovalani told ET it was
02:58 Suzanne's positive outlook that
02:59 inspired him most. The way I want
03:01 to remember and the way the first
03:04 thought in my head is her smile.
03:07 It's literally her smile and the way
03:10 she affected everybody around her.
03:11 Everybody around her loved her
03:13 and for a good reason because she
03:15 was somebody that's very easily loved.
03:17 Yeah.
03:18 Yeah.
03:18 Yeah.
