00:03 Melissa Claire Egan aka Chelsea Lawson is finally back in Genoa City and she has already started

00:14 Melissa Claire Egan has been with The Young and the Restless since 2011 as Chelsea Lawson.

00:24 Before that, she made her debut in the soap world when was playing the role of Annie Novak

00:29 on All My Children. Throughout her career in daytime television, the actress has been

00:33 recognized with seven Daytime Emmy Award nominations all thanks to her exceptional

00:37 work on both AMC and YNR. This year, she is nominated for the Outstanding Lead Actress

00:43 category once again. Why, you ask? Well, it's all thanks to her incredibly powerful performances as

00:49 Chelsea, who's been dealing with some heavy mental health stuff and even contemplated taking her own

00:54 life. The last time we saw Chelsea on The Young and the Restless was back in August 21st when she

00:59 left Genoa City to take Connor to a new school out of town since he was getting bullied at his old

01:04 one. Connor didn't want to stay at that school, so his mom, she did what she thought was best for him.

01:10 But in real life, the actress was actually on maternity leave. She welcomed her second son,

01:15 Jake Joseph Kattrasar, several weeks earlier than expected on July 14th. Melissa Claire Egan has

01:22 been married to her husband Matt Kattrasar since July 2014 and is already a mom to one son. She

01:28 gave birth to her first baby boy, Caden, in 2021. Then in February 2023, she announced that she was

01:35 pregnant with her second boy, who is now out in the world. After a long leave, spending quality

01:40 time with her family and her new baby, she is all set to come back to the set of YNR. Ever since she

01:46 was gone, the fans have been desperately waiting for her return and now it looks like everyone got

01:51 their wish granted. When a fan posted that she was looking forward to Egan's return to the show,

01:56 Egan replied on Twitter, "Soon, a few more weeks! Already shot my first episode back!"

02:01 Everyone was excited to hear that news, with one fan writing, "Yay, I can't wait for Chelsea to

02:06 return, I miss her so much!" Another wrote, "I was literally just wondering if you'd filmed

02:11 your first episode back yet, I've missed you so much!" Apparently, when Chelsea returns,

02:17 she is going to return alone without Connor. Looks like she has decided to give her son a

02:21 chance to start fresh by letting him go to a school out of town. She might have left him with

02:25 her mom, Anita, while she goes back to Genoa City to get her life back on track. We can't wait to
