00:27 We are free to use our cellphones, computers, and other media.
00:33 But are we really free?
00:35 Or maybe they have already controlled us?
00:38 In MIL-101, we will help you become smarter in using media.
00:46 MIL or Media and Information Literacy or also known as Media Literacy, is about the ability of a person to access, analyze, use,
00:58 spread, and distribute information and other media products such as news, memes, and others.
01:07 The scope of Media Literacy is wide.
01:10 It is not only about spreading fake news or spreading false information. It is also about the ability of using digital technology.
01:20 Here in MIL-101, we will discuss the concept of Media Literacy one by one.
01:26 Let's start with Fake News.
01:29 Politically incorrect or the term "Fake News" is not correct.
01:32 Because if you say news, it should be true and not fake.
01:39 But for the purpose of discussion, the term "Fake News" is also used.
01:44 But what is correct?
01:46 Fake News can be Misinformation or Disinformation.
01:51 What is the difference between the two?
01:53 If you say Misinformation, it is incorrect or incorrect information such as gossip, insult,
02:02 and the "pranks" that other vloggers often do.
02:09 Usually, it is not the intention to mislead or deceive people.
02:14 While if you say Disinformation, it is intended to spread information such as hoaxes,
02:22 made-up stories, or other types of propaganda.
02:28 Misinformation and Disinformation are both incorrect information, but they are different in intention.
02:36 So be careful when using information.
02:39 Make sure it is correct and not fake.
