00:02 - Hi, I'm Elisa Priddle,

00:10 and I am the Detroit editor for Motor Trend.

00:13 And I am here with Mr. Ron Heiser,

00:15 and this is his baby.

00:18 - Well, thanks Elisa.

00:19 So it was actually Jim Farley that came up

00:21 with the first thought about,

00:22 well, maybe to go aspirational,

00:24 we should do something more Mustang inspired.

00:27 We think we have a unique battery electric vehicle

00:30 that is worthy of that pony.

00:32 We have a mid range battery that will get somewhere,

00:34 you know, between 220 and 230 miles of range.

00:38 And then we have an extended range battery

00:40 that we're gonna get over 300 miles.

00:43 The Ford denotes four wheel or all wheel drive.

00:46 So our standard E-drive system will be rear wheel drive.

00:50 And then you'll option up to an all wheel drive system.

00:54 And then because we are a Mustang,

00:55 we'll have a GT and we have a performance

00:58 all wheel drive system,

00:59 which will have a very big motor in the front

01:02 to match the big motor on the rear axles.

01:05 We did a lot of work in terms of getting,

01:08 getting the right body sculpting on this car.

01:11 And we had to make sure that we got it right.

01:13 What you're gonna see on the inside,

01:15 obviously the first thing you're gonna see

01:16 is our 15 inch touchscreen.

01:19 Our research indicated that people still want a rotary knob

01:22 to control volume.

01:25 What we've done is we've minimized the cluster,

01:28 but we felt the cluster was still very important.

01:31 So the information that'll be in the cluster

01:34 is what's critical to driving.

01:36 We feel very good about where we're at

01:38 in terms of range and performance relative to competition.

01:41 - And it's gonna be fast.

01:43 - It's gonna be fast.

01:44 We aren't quoting numbers yet.

01:46 Mr. Ford said goes like hell.

01:48 That's what our target is.

01:51 We're staking our collective reputations on this car

01:54 and that it can live up to that badge.
