00:00 As of 10 in the morning, the center of Typhoon Jenny is still near the extreme northern zone.
00:08 As of 10 in the morning, it is 600 kilometers east of Calayan, Cagayan and it is continuously getting stronger.
00:14 Earlier, it was 120 kilometers per hour.
00:17 The wind's strength is close to its eyes.
00:19 Now, it is at 140 kilometers per hour.
00:22 And the gustiness is now reaching 170 kilometers per hour.
00:27 The movement of Typhoon Jenny is still slow.
00:30 It is only 15 kilometers per hour in the northwest.
00:34 Based on our latest satellite animation,
00:36 the trunk or the outer portions of Typhoon Jenny are now affected in many areas of Cagayan Valley,
00:43 including Aurora and some parts of Bicol Region.
00:47 Meanwhile, there are also some rains in some parts of Luzon and Visayas.
00:52 And this is because of the southwest monsoon or habagat that Typhoon Jenny is making stronger.
00:58 This is the latest track of hope regarding this typhoon.
01:03 From today until Wednesday, the Typhoon Jenny will move to the northern part of the valley.
01:11 And then from Wednesday up until it leaves Parsa Friday,
01:14 it will move to the left and possibly landfall here in the area of Southern Taiwan.
01:20 Afterwards, it will leave Parsa Friday and head to Southern China.
01:23 It is the closest to our land, here in the province of Batanes.
01:28 The distance of the Typhoon Jenny's eyes is 200 to 300 kilometers from Batanes by Wednesday and Thursday.
01:36 So, they will experience a harsh weather there.
01:39 And worst case scenario, we will raise the signal number 3.
01:43 In the northern part of Luzon, the Typhoon Jenny will experience a direct effect of the wind.
01:50 For Central and Southern Luzon and Visayas, we will not be directly affected by the next typhoon days.
01:57 But the enhanced habagat or southwest monsoon will continue.
02:01 In terms of intensity, we can see that the next days,
02:05 it will remain as a strong typhoon or typhoon category.
02:09 And we are not taking away the chance that it will reach more than 160 kilometers per hour.
02:15 Almost a super typhoon but not quite based on our latest track.
02:19 We expect that the Typhoon Jenny will be wide
02:23 as it hits the northern portion of the Philippine Sea.
02:26 So, we can see that its total width, around 500 to 600 kilometers,
02:31 will be connected to a large part of Northern Luzon.
02:37 So, now, the Tropical Cyclone Wind has raised the signal number 1 in 5 places in Northern Luzon.
02:42 It includes the province of Batanes and Cagayan, as well as the Bambuyan Islands.
02:46 The towns in Isabela, as well as Makunakon, Bipilakan, Palanan, Santa Maria, San Pablo,
02:53 Tumawini, Cabagan, Ilagan, San Mariano, and Santo Tomas.
02:58 Bunga, Payaus, is the signal number 1.
03:00 And also in some parts of Ilocos Norte.
03:03 Like Carrasco, Pintar, Burgos, Dumalneg, Banguik, Pagodpod, and Ada.
03:10 So, within 1.5 days, they will be exposed to strong winds.
03:15 And we will not miss the chance to upgrade our signal number 1s
03:19 into signals number 2 and number 3.
03:22 And in some parts of Northern Luzon and even Aurora,
03:25 it is possible that we will have a Tropical Cyclone Wind signal.
03:31 In terms of the rain, we will repeat that the rain is due to Typhoon Jenny and the Southwest Monsoon.
03:38 This color is associated directly with the typhoon.
03:42 So, by today, Batanes, Northern Cagayan, and Ilocos provinces will be the most affected by the typhoon.
03:48 And then by tomorrow, Northern Cagayan, along with the Bambuyan Islands,
03:53 Ilocos provinces, and Northern Apayau, until Wednesday.
03:57 So, be careful of the strongest rains.
04:00 Meanwhile, today, Habagat will be affected by the Occidental Mindoro,
04:05 a large portion of Palawan, and Western Visayas.
04:09 By tomorrow, October 3, Sambales, Bataan, Habagat will be affected.
04:14 We will also have an effect on Occidental Mindoro, Northern Palawan, and the province of Antique.
04:19 While on Wednesday, please stay tuned on Metro Manila.
04:22 It is also possible that we will have a rain between 50 to 100 millimeters.
04:27 So, in general, it will be light to moderate, with at times, heavy rains.
04:31 We will also have occasional rains over Sambales and Bataan.
04:35 Pampanga, Pulacan, Cavite, Batangas, and Occidental Mindoro, Kalamian, and Uyo Islands.
04:46 Batanes province will be the most affected with 100 to 200 millimeters,
04:51 or equivalent to moderate to heavy, with at times, intense rains.
04:55 It will reach Tuesday and Wednesday,
04:59 when it will reach the extreme northern zone of Sibagyang Jenny.
05:05 We would like to remind our fellowmen to be careful with possible floods, especially in low-lying areas.
05:12 It is also possible for rivers to overflow,
05:15 and landslides in mountainous areas are also possible.
05:21 The gusty conditions, or the so-called "bugsong-hangin"
05:26 in other areas, here in the extreme northern zone,
05:29 are directly affected by the strong winds at the end of Jenny.
05:32 Those in the southern zone and Visayas are affected by the southwest monsoon,
05:38 so it is not directly from Baguio-Jenny.
05:41 By today, we will have "bugsong-hangin" over Mimaropa, Icol region, and western Visayas.
05:47 But by tomorrow, in Metro Manila, we will have "bugsong-hangin" because of the low-lying areas.
05:54 We also have gusty conditions over Calabarzon by tomorrow,
05:57 Mimaropa, Icol region, and western Visayas.
06:00 While Wednesday will reach, the gusty conditions, or the strong winds over Metro Manila,
06:08 as well as Bataan, southern Aurora, a large part of Calabarzon,
06:12 and Mimaropa and Icol region will still be affected.
06:16 Lastly, aside from the rain and strong winds,
06:21 the high winds will be possible the next days
06:24 as the storm Jenny approaches the northern zone.
06:27 Up to 4.5 meters, or one and a half times the height of the storm,
06:32 will be experienced by our countrymen here in Batanes and Babuyan Islands.
06:38 Here in mainland Cagayan, we still expect high winds.
06:43 While here in Isabela, it is possible to have a gale warning by tomorrow,
06:48 but now, the winds are between 2 to 4 meters high.
06:52 Even in the coming days, while passing near Batanes,
06:56 the storm Jenny, a large part of the northern zone,
06:59 and also here in western Visayas, it is possible to have high winds.
07:03 So, always be on the lookout for our gale warnings.
07:08 We are always on the lookout for our tropical cyclone bulletins every 6 hours.
07:13 But, it is possible that we will issue every 3 hours,
07:17 and that's every 11am, 2pm, 5pm, and so on.
07:21 Then, our weather advisories, or the weather forecast for heavy rain,
07:26 we release it every 12 hours, so that's 11am, 11pm, and so on.
07:31 And our advisories and heavy rainfall warnings,
07:36 the moment we see a heavy rain, we will immediately go near your area,
07:41 regardless of the time, of the heavy rainfall warnings,
07:44 whether it's orange, yellow, or red monsoon.
07:46 Thank you.
