00:00 The scene of a fatal bombing near a mosque in Pakistan. One of at least two attacks today.
00:07 At least 58 people died in the blast in Mastung, in the Balochistan province, which took place
00:15 during a rally on Friday to celebrate the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad, marked by
00:20 Muslims around the world. And at least five people have been reported killed in an explosion
00:26 at a mosque in Hangu, the third largest city. No one has claimed responsibility yet for
00:31 the blasts.
00:37 It`s an exodus no one was prepared for. Cars and buses full of refugees are entering Armenia
00:42 at a desperate pace. According to Yerevan, 84,770 people have left Nagorno-Karabakh by
00:49 Friday, more than 70 percent of the population. The U.N. is calling for all efforts to be
00:54 made to ensure the protection of people and their rights. Several agencies are already
00:58 on the ground.
01:00 We`ve heard about issues of hypertension, malnutrition, people in need of first aid,
01:05 elderly, people with chronic diseases in need of care. So, we`ve asked very specifically
01:11 what they need. There are some acute needs here that we`re going to try and tackle and
01:15 bring in additional supplies. But there are also some medium-term to longer-term needs.
01:20 These include ambulatory and ambulance support.
01:24 Thirty percent of the refugees are children, many of them separated from their families.
01:30 Most of the refugees need immediate assistance.
01:32 I didn`t even tell the private doctor, because he was the head of the family. I even called
01:39 the ambulance.
01:40 I was transferred to Stepanakert. I had to leave so much money. I didn`t have a choice.
01:47 I had to leave millions of dollars. I had to leave everything.
01:55 Russia deployed some 2,000 peacekeepers to Nagorno-Karabakh in November 2020. Now, the
02:01 Kremlin is saying their presence will be discussed with Azerbaijan after the disarmament of forces
02:05 from the separatist territory.
02:12 Voters are running high ahead of Saturday`s elections in Slovakia. Voters can go to the
02:17 polls from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. But the real tense moments will come after the last voters
02:22 cast with polls predicting a close finish.
02:27 I`m very stressed. I`m hoping for a better future. And I`m scared what will happen after
02:34 elections.
02:35 I think it is very important and especially for young people, because I`ve heard a lot
02:41 of young people are planning to move out if the elections don`t go their way.
02:48 Euronews reporter Adam Magyar is there.
02:51 The outcome of the Slovak election may have never been as uncertain as it is now. Two parties
02:58 have a chance to lead the coalition government. The former prime minister, the left-wing populist
03:03 Robert Fico Smerje, led the polls for a long time. But just a few days ago, the first
03:09 Slovakian progressive liberal candidate took the first place. Their candidate, Mihály
03:15 Simecska, is popular in the cities. The uncertainty is primarily caused by the fact that 11 parties
03:22 can get into the parliament, and there are more around the polling stations. So the big
03:27 question is who will be a member of the coalition government.
03:30 In any case, the European Union is also following the election results closely. If Robert Fico
03:36 wins, it means that after Orbán Viktor and Mateusz Morawiecki, a third-party leader
03:42 of the European Union may be a Euro-sceptic. And Fico is also famous for his Russian party.
03:48 He is also a very pragmatic politician. So it may be easy if the people who are interested
03:54 in this will want to leave the government with their Western allies.
03:58 Adam Magyar, Euronews, Bozsony.
04:03 Some relief for European consumers, counting their pennies, as inflation dropped 0.9 points
04:10 to 4.3% in September. And the increase in food prices slowed down considerably. However,
04:17 this was offset by an acceleration in energy prices, which prevented inflation from falling
04:22 more sharply. The September figure is a long way from the European Central Bank's 2% target.
04:28 But economists believe that if the trend is maintained, the ECB won't need to raise interest
04:33 rates any further from the already record highs. High prices are holding back the European
04:39 economy because paychecks don't go as far as they used to, forcing people to cut back
04:44 on spending.
