David Kelly and his brother have converted an old school bus into a holiday let. He talks to the Yorkshire Post about the conversion and gives us a first look inside.

00:00 David, David Kelly. Me and my brother had this notion of converting this double-decker bus,

00:08 as you can see behind. It's a 2002 ex-school bus. We converted it in about six months by the time

00:17 we can start to finish. Not an easy job but, you know, it was great because we learned so much.

00:25 I've always been in construction so it's a little bit different obviously but the same rule applies

00:33 basically. It's just using your initiative and using materials to how you would use them really.

00:41 Well it's a total rip out if you like and then first thing goes in is the insulation and the

00:47 panelling, wiring, plumbing. It sleeps four with a fully fitted kitchen and bathroom upstairs and

00:56 living space of course and some super views. Also attached is a, we call it the squirrel hut,

01:06 which is a barbecue hut basically, that seats 17. It could also sleep four if need be,

01:16 and the weather permitting. As you go into the bus you'll notice the driver's seat still there

01:21 and then we've got a fully fitted kitchen as you walk through, seating area for two,

01:27 then a glass table and chairs, marble coffee table, or breakfast bar sorry, and then further

01:35 on into the back you've got sleeping for two, adults or children, with a very cosy,

01:43 warm deco. Upstairs it's the same really, it's spacious, at the far end you've got a double bed,

01:56 master bedroom with wardrobes and then coming forward you've got a bathroom with a shower,

02:06 toilet, hand basin, all central heated obviously, and electric blinds which automatically go down

02:13 and then you come into the living room, again you've got leather seats and then a recreational

02:22 area if you like, a TV, games, there's plenty of games on board. Yeah, it's whatever your

02:31 imagination takes you I think. A lot of interest will come from the younger generation I think,

02:36 as basically somewhere totally, totally different, where they can experience, you know, a different

02:46 way of living if you like.
