5th Woodbridge Sea Scouts' quest for a new hut

The 5th Woodbridge Sea Scouts are trying to raise £400,000 to build a major extension to their Scout hut.

00:00 Hi I'm Barry, I'm the Group Scout Leader at Fifflebridge Sea Scouts.

00:04 We're looking for £400,000 funding to expand our hut and double our membership.

00:09 So far we've raised about £70,000, we've spent £20,000 of that getting to the point we are now.

00:16 We have planning permission, we've laid foundations, so we're now just looking for the rest of the funding to create the building.

00:23 In the last two years we've expanded our membership from 100 to 200 young people.

00:29 Our waiting list has actually gone up from 100 to 230 young people.

00:34 So our plans are to create the extension and then create more groups to get more young people into Scouting.
