The driver of a lorry which crashed into 14 vehicles in an accident at KM5.7 of Jalan Persiaran Utara Puchong-bound, killing two motorcyclists on the spot, was charged with reckless driving at the Putrajaya's Magistrate Court on Monday (Sept 25).

29-year-old Muhammad Izzatul Shafik Mozahari had claimed trial to the charge of driving recklessly and dangerously at 10.14am on Sept 20 at KM5.8 Jalan Persiaran Utara, resulting in the death of Faris Haziq Abu Bakar and Yuswar Mohd Uyus.

00:09 killing two motorcyclists on the spot, was charged with reckless driving at the Putrajaya Magistrate Court on Monday.
00:16 29-year-old Muhammad Izzato Shafiq Mozahari, however, pleaded not guilty,
00:21 after the charge was read to him before Magistrate Aiman Nabilah Muhammad Azhar.
00:26 He was charged with driving recklessly and dangerously on September 20th at KM 5.8 Jalan Perserang Utara,
00:33 resulting in the death of 25-year-old Fariz Haziq Abu Bakar and 39-year-old Yuswa Muhammad Uyus.
00:40 The charge was framed under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987,
00:46 which carries a 5 to 10 years jail term and a fine between RM20,000 and RM50,000 upon conviction.
00:53 The court set bail at RM5,000 in one surety,
00:57 and the accused was ordered to report to the nearest police station once a month until the disposal of the case.
01:03 The case has been fixed for re-mention and submission of documents on October 25th.
