Judge blocks proposed witnesses in SBF trial, DOJ's motion granted
  • 7 months ago
Judge Lewis Kaplan, overseeing Sam Bankman-Fried's trial for alleged fraud at FTX, granted the US Department of Justice's motion to block all proposed witnesses that SBF's defense lawyers wanted to call. The DOJ objected to these witnesses for lack of clarity on their testimonies and unsuitability for a US criminal trial. The judge also denied SBF's motion to exclude a proposed DOJ witness, expected to analyze FTX customer deposit data. SBF will remain in jail until the start of his trial next month.
