Deliveries of the Pfizer and Moderna shots to some CVS and Walgreens locations have been delayed, causing the rescheduling of appointments. For the first time since the pandemic, the US government is not playing a leading role in vaccine rollout. Providers like pharmacies buy vaccines directly from distributors/manufacturers instead of the government purchasing and distributing them, causing some initial speed bumps as providers figure out how supply will flow and how many doses to order.
