00:22 Giannis tied to Drew Holiday getting an extension
00:26 in Milwaukee, does that seem accurate?
00:29 - I think the interesting thing about Giannis recently,
00:32 specifically to this summer,
00:34 it seems like he's been very calculated
00:35 with what he said about the team
00:37 and their vision moving forward.
00:39 Not saying that he's going to leave,
00:40 but saying that, listen,
00:41 I wanna compete for championships,
00:43 and if that's not in the cards,
00:44 then maybe I would like to move on.
00:46 Drew Holiday is a huge part of that.
00:48 He was an all defensive first team member last year.
00:51 He was started last year, but he is 33 years old,
00:54 and he's entering his 14th or 15th season in the NBA.
00:57 So Drew Holiday is nearing the end of his prime
01:01 and the prime years, but he is the second most reliable guy
01:04 and the second most important guy
01:06 on that Bucks roster after Giannis.
01:08 So they're in a tough spot in where they just gave money
01:12 to Chris Milton and Brooke Lopez this off season,
01:14 brought Robin Lopez back to that team,
01:17 but they are one of the NBA's older teams.
01:19 And that championship window as constructed around Giannis
01:23 might be two or three more years.
01:24 And now they're facing the reality of,
01:27 hey, do we make a choice to maximize what we can
01:29 with the best player in the world
01:31 for the next two or three years, or do we cut our losses?
01:32 Because if Giannis becomes a little disgruntled
01:35 or a little upset with his role,
01:37 the direction that they're going,
01:38 there are gonna be a lot of teams
01:39 willing to offer a lot for him.
01:41 So the Bucks are gonna have to do what's best for them,
01:43 and they value winning one or two the next couple years
01:46 or remaining competitive for years beyond
01:51 and adding more, I guess, draft capital
01:53 and things of that nature
01:54 if they need to move on from Giannis.
