00:00 It's more than 30 degrees here on the Sunshine Coast at Biwa.
00:05 You can see behind me the fire ground.
00:07 This is an area where 300 hectares have been burned since about Sunday afternoon.
00:13 It took more than 60 fire crews on Monday, followed by aircrafts dropping more than 250,000
00:20 litres of water on this fire ground to bring it to the point where it is now, which is
00:24 well under control and within containment lines.
00:27 The crews that you can see behind me, the rural fire crews, they're now moving through
00:31 the fire ground just trying to dampen down any hot spots they can find because there
00:36 is a change in weather coming and we had a little bit of a chat to the rural fires, Mark
00:40 Jakeman, a little earlier.
00:42 Unfortunately that cool change is that stronger wind turning up.
00:45 So even though it is a cooler day, the wind speed is up, which could cause embers or something
00:51 to float over a containment line.
00:53 So it was quite a large fire for not bad conditions.
00:59 So crews are already working flat out to keep fires under control.
01:04 Tomorrow is going to be the big change that people are going to feel, particularly here
01:07 in South East Queensland.
01:09 As I say, it's 30, 31 where I'm standing at the moment.
01:12 The maximum temperature for tomorrow for South East Queensland is in the mid to low 20s.
01:17 So people are going to feel that change dramatically.
01:20 For those crews like the gents behind me who are still working on these fire grounds, unfortunately
01:25 it's still going to be dry and there is some wind picking up.
01:28 So while they're looking forward to that cooler change, that dry wind that's going to come
01:32 with it means it's a time will tell situation.
