Blind pensioner had house broken into and money stolen

00:00 We'd gone away for a week, which was planned well and truly in advance.

00:05 We had the place set up, which we thought a rather secure set up, with lights and everything

00:10 coming on at night.

00:12 And we left leaving the house, we thought, in a very secure situation.

00:17 The neighbours all know we were gone.

00:19 They were up, and our barrel next door does a particularly good job of keeping track of

00:25 the house and anyone that comes and goes.

00:28 And it wasn't until Sunday morning when we got a call from the Orange Police letting

00:32 us know that they were in the house, because they'd been notified by the neighbour that

00:37 the house had been broken into and ransacked.

00:40 And the ransacking had gone right through all the rooms of the house, plus all the cupboards

00:46 and boxes and all the goods and shackles in the garage as well, amongst money that was

00:55 stolen, pushbikes that were stolen, jewellery stolen, electronic tablets, several other

01:03 - we think there's probably other stuff missing, but we haven't had a chance to go right through

01:07 it all at this stage.
