00:00 This is the story of my first acid trip. A friend and I decided to drop LSD on a
00:06 Saturday night at his house. I was in a pretty good mood and I've been looking
00:10 forward to this moment for a long time. I've already took shrooms a few times
00:14 but this was my first one with acid. We both put the tab under our tongue and
00:19 let it sit there for a few minutes. After two hours we're seeing everything
00:23 brighter, colors are stronger and lines start to dance. At this point my pupils
00:29 are wider than flying saucers. I try to roll a joint only to see my hands
00:34 slightly melting and morphing. The weed made the trip even stronger. I now feel
00:40 everything more deeply and start to question the goal of nature and the
00:44 essence of our consciousness. I was able to feel the pain of the world and
00:48 thought that unity and peace were the only solutions as nature works better
00:53 when species operate together in symbiosis. I quickly grabbed my earphones
00:58 and put on some alternative music. The sound is vibrant, uplifting and makes me
01:03 smile like a kid. Patterns on the wall start to move and lines become curves.
01:09 The room is slowly breathing and I'm at the center of this breath. After a while
01:14 we decide to watch a movie about a woman psychoanalyst living in Tunis. I was
01:20 struck by how a belief system could shape the whole structure and culture of
01:24 a society. Every frame seemed full of meaning and I felt like colors told a
01:29 story on their own. Between two scenes I go to the bathroom to pee. The blue tiles
01:35 on the walls look like they are holding the sea. Shades of blue are moving,
01:40 turning, morphing and make the wall look like a living painting. What amazed me at
01:46 this point was to realize how little we know about reality and the inner
01:50 mechanisms of our own minds. I spent a long time thinking about evolution and
01:55 social cohesion only to realize that humanity was still at a fetal stage
02:00 which explains why the world can be such a chaotic place. While I start coming
02:05 down a little puzzled by these insights I see the neighbors two cats fixing me
02:10 as if they knew I was tripping. Maybe they knew or maybe this was just my mind
02:14 trying to find meaning where there wasn't any. Isn't that a quality of the
02:18 human psyche to rationalize by seeking meaningful patterns? I felt connected to
02:23 nature as I watched trees being shaped by the wind and caressed by the rising
02:28 Sun. I felt a deep sense of greatness as if nature was sentient and knew exactly
02:34 what she was doing. It's quite an anthropomorphic statement but it soothes
02:39 me with optimism.
