00:23 Chickens are the closest living relative to the T-Rex.

00:26 So perhaps not quite as scary, but this means they have a ferocious side in them.

00:31 So they will rarely run away from a fight.

00:36 When living on farms, they form social structures just like us.

00:42 Known as pecking orders, and they communicate with each other.

00:45 They use more than 24 vocalizations, each with a distinct meaning.

00:53 Some are to warn friends from predators, others for letting mothers know where they are comfortable.

01:00 But some are to yell at each other, for chickens will not hesitate to pick a fight between

01:05 one another, especially roosters.

01:11 So what makes roosters fight, and how is their fight concluded?

01:16 Roosters are protectors.

01:17 If you have a flock that free ranges, a rooster can be the ticket to safety for your hens.

01:24 You can have more than one rooster also.

01:27 But sometimes having not just one rooster has its disadvantages.

01:32 For roosters can become very territorial and will pick a fight with one another to determine

01:38 Although they are small, they are incredible fighters.

01:43 After one male challenges the other, the challenged rooster will make a beeline for the challenger,

01:51 Immediately both birds become a mass of feathers, claws, and beaks.

01:56 Roosters don't like to leave a good fight unresolved, and will keep coming at each other
