00:02 It can be said that for everything we wish to learn
00:09 or want to become, there is a road to follow.
00:12 From the beginning, the road to believing
00:18 in only one true God, the maker of heaven and earth,
00:22 has carved its route through the ancient land of Israel.
00:27 It is a road that Abraham, the father of nations, walked
00:30 as the first believer in monotheism.
00:32 It was along this road that God made his covenant
00:38 with Abraham, promising that his descendants
00:40 would be as numerous as the stars in the sky.
00:44 It is a road walked by Jesus,
00:49 the central figure of Christianity.
00:55 This road is deeply symbolic in the story of God
00:58 shared by Jews and Christians.
01:00 And it is a literal highway that bisects modern Israel,
01:04 where it is now known simply as Route 60.
01:08 Route 60 follows the ancient path
01:16 from Nazareth to Beersheba.
01:18 It connects many holy sites and biblical events
01:23 in what could be called the original Bible Belt.
01:26 It has mile markers, human and divine,
01:31 to memorialize the acts of celebration,
01:33 suffering, and salvation that are woven
01:36 into Israel's history.
01:37 I'm David Friedman, and I invite you to join me
01:43 and my co-host and fellow traveler, Mike Pompeo,
01:46 as we explore the ancient mysteries of Route 60,
01:50 the biblical highway.
