00:01I grew up in Venezuela when it was considered the most stable democracy in Latin America.
00:06Within a decade, everything changed.
00:10Populism divided us.
00:12There was no middle ground, no common ground.
00:16When I hear the citizens of a democracy say that their freedom is in danger,
00:22I always pay attention.
00:26Democracy in Israel is no longer really a democracy.
00:31We traveled to Israel in the summer of 2023.
00:35We found the nation created to be a refuge for the most persecuted people on earth,
00:40facing a level of infighting that led its own precedent to warn a potential civil war.
00:47They speak in the name of democracy.
00:50But they're actually against democracy.
00:53Netanyahu's limitless lust for power.
00:55Why is it that a right-wing government, democratically elected, is somehow not democracy?
01:01The white socialist elite is losing power.
01:04And you can see it in front of your eyes.
01:06Darker police, less dark demonstrators clashing.
01:08I define polarization as Israel's number one national security threat.
01:13For 10 months, Israelis had been fighting each other,
01:22only to realize that regardless of their race or faith or political position,
01:39their slaughter was caused for celebration amongst millions around the world.
01:43We spoke to figures on the left and the right, black and brown, Jews and Arabs,
01:49and they will challenge the misconceptions outsiders told you about this place.
01:54This is not a competition for your ideological alliance.
02:01Because you are also a victim of indoctrination.
02:05It was an occupied territory.
02:07The weaker side is not by definition blameless.
02:11This is an invitation to travel deep into the soul of a nation.
