00:00 Elon Musk is looking back at his relationship with ex-Amber Heard.
00:06 The Tesla CEO reflected on his on-and-off romance with Aquaman star in his eponymous
00:10 new biography from Walter Isaacson, reportedly calling their time together, quote, "brutal."
00:17 According to E! News, the book states that the two first met in 2013, but their romance
00:21 didn't start until four years later, after Amber filed for divorce from Johnny Depp.
00:26 While they were together, the biography claims that several members of Elon's family were
00:30 reportedly against the relationship, including his brother, Kimball Musk.
00:35 According to E! News, in the book, Kimball claimed Amber was, quote, "toxic and a nightmare,"
00:40 adding that Elon falls in love with people who are, quote, "beautiful, no question, but
00:44 they have a very dark side."
00:46 When the billionaire was told this, he reportedly told the biographer, quote, "I'm just a fool
00:50 for love.
00:51 I'm often a fool, but especially for love."
00:55 Amber and Elon called it quits in 2017, and the SpaceX founder told Walter he allegedly
00:59 endured, quote, "18 months of unrelenting insanity that was mind-bogglingly painful."
01:04 But despite all of that, there appears to be no bad blood between the two.
01:10 Amber reportedly told Walter in the biography, quote, "I love him very much.
01:14 Elon loves fire, and sometimes it burns him."
01:18 And Elon sent her some loving words back in an Instagram post from 2017, writing, quote,
01:23 "Although Amber and I did break up, we are still friends, remain close, and love one
01:27 another."
01:28 AXIS Hollywood has reached out to Amber and Elon's teams for comment.
01:34 Amber dated Elon following her public split from Johnny Depp.
01:37 The two faced off in a civil lawsuit last year when the Pirates of the Caribbean star
01:41 sued her for defamation.
01:43 Since the trial wrapped up more than a year ago, Netflix has made a documentary about
01:47 the case titled Depp v Heard.
01:50 The Japanese lawyer in the trial, Camille Vasquez, exclusively gave AXIS Hollywood her
01:54 take on the docuseries and the social media impact of last year's high-profile trial.
01:59 "He had no idea that there was this media social storm brewing outside."
02:04 "Can you please tell the jury why you're here today?"
02:08 "Ms. Heard accused me of abuse."
02:11 "My ex-husband is suing me."
02:14 "Brutal, cruel."
02:15 "This is humiliating for any human being to go through."
02:18 "And all false."
02:20 "Camille, Depp v Heard.
02:23 What was it like for you to go back and relive that trial via the docuseries?"
02:27 "It was fascinating.
02:28 I mean, just to see the way that Emma put together that docuseries, I found it really
02:33 interesting.
02:35 She utilized the court testimony in a way that told a really compelling, truthful account
02:41 of what took place inside those four walls in Virginia."
02:45 "And, you know, there was what was taking place within those four walls, and then there
02:49 was the world outside.
02:51 There was the social media firestorm.
02:53 What was it like for you really being at the center of that?"
02:56 "You know, it's interesting, and that's a great question, because while we were there
03:00 inside doing our jobs, we didn't really understand the impact this case was having on social
03:07 media all over the world.
03:09 You know, towards the end, we started getting messages or people sending us things, but
03:15 really for the most part, we had no idea that there was this media social storm brewing
03:21 outside."
03:22 "I don't think I've seen anybody do a better job.
03:24 So go Camille Vasquez."
03:27 "So you were unaware that there were essentially millions of people talking about you every
03:31 day online."
03:32 "We really were unaware, and I'm grateful that we weren't aware at the time, because
03:39 we did have a job to do, and we were so incredibly busy during that time that we didn't have
03:43 the time to focus on what was happening outside of our war rooms and that courtroom."
03:49 "It was an act of profound cruelty, not just to Mr. Depp, but to true survivors of
03:55 domestic abuse.
03:57 For Ms. Hurd to hold herself out as a public figure representing domestic abuse.
04:03 It was false, it was defamatory, and it caused irreparable harm."
04:08 "What was it like for you watching yourself in court?"
04:12 "What I see is actually somebody that has always believed in her client, and a true
04:20 advocate.
04:21 I see my expressions to the evidence as it's coming forward, and I very much knew the case
04:28 very, very well.
04:29 I knew the evidence, and I was advocating at all times for my client."
04:35 "Was there one key moment when you knew that you'd won the jury over?"
04:39 "I don't think that we could ever be 100% sure, but there were some key moments during
04:45 the trial.
04:46 Johnny Depp's testimony, I think, was a key moment when he was finally, after six years,
04:50 able to tell his side of the story."
04:53 "I felt the responsibility of clearing the record as the only way that I could get to
05:04 the point where I could speak has really taken this full six years, and it's been six years
05:15 of trying times."
05:19 "For six years, what we had were, what we say, unfounded allegations made by his ex-wife,
05:25 Amber Heard, against him, and no response, public or otherwise, from Johnny Depp until
05:31 he filed this lawsuit.
05:33 And he was able to testify there six years later.
05:37 I also think that her cross-examination, which I had the honor of doing on behalf of Mr.
05:42 Depp, was a pivotal moment."
05:44 "Okay."
05:45 "Being able to confront her with her own words was so important to Mr. Depp and to our overall
05:52 strategy."
