00:00 first game with Oregon this past weekend against Tech.
00:02 I know it wasn't an oddson, but just how was that?
00:05 - I mean, the environment was crazy.
00:06 You know, you could definitely tell
00:08 that they dedicated a lot of their time to, you know,
00:11 beating us.
00:12 That was a big part of their season.
00:13 And, you know, we didn't take it lightly.
00:15 So we knew it was going to be a challenge coming into that,
00:17 but the environment atmosphere was, was definitely there.
00:20 You know, we kind of got complacent, I would say,
00:24 lost a little discipline, you know,
00:25 all those penalties and stuff put us in a bad spot,
00:27 but just happy to come out of there with the win
00:30 and, you know, come back home 2-0.
00:33 - How do you think you played?
00:35 - All right.
00:37 You know, naturally, first game,
00:39 there's going to be some, some things you wish you had back.
00:42 I definitely had a couple of tackles I should have made
00:43 that slipped away, I felt like.
00:46 And, but you know, that's kind of happens in the first game.
00:50 You see those things, go to the doctor, watch that film,
00:54 take your medicine, and then, you know,
00:56 come back this next week and look to correct
00:58 some of those things.
00:59 But if I had to give it a grade, I'd probably say a C-minus.
01:04 There's a lot, lot more to come, I feel like.
01:08 A lot of improvement to make.
01:09 I mean, you got to be your own harshest critic,
01:12 I feel like, so.
01:13 - What emphasis do you guys put in on going to the doctors
01:16 on Sundays?
01:17 We've heard basically everybody we've interviewed
01:18 this week talk about it.
01:19 Just how, since this is kind of a new experience to you,
01:22 I don't know if you did something like that
01:24 at Fresno State, but just what has that been like
01:26 for you, especially after week two?
01:28 - For sure, we didn't have the same, you know, wording,
01:30 you know, the same phrase, but I think it's huge
01:34 just to place some importance on that, you know.
01:38 Going to the doctor, it's not something
01:40 that everybody loves to do.
01:41 You don't like to see the ugly parts of the game,
01:44 the missed tackles, the things you could have done better.
01:47 You normally like to say, oh, I remember those,
01:50 but like, I don't want to watch that film
01:52 and highlight exactly what I did wrong, so.
01:56 But it's, you know, that's where growth comes in.
01:58 Looking at those missed plays or missed opportunities
02:02 and really, you know, analyzing them
02:04 and seeing what little thing went wrong
02:06 where you could improve upon that
02:07 and that play will turn into a, you know,
02:10 a highlight next week, so.
02:11 Yeah, I think it's, I love that phrase
02:14 and I think it's huge for our team just to be able to grow
02:18 and, you know, reflect off our mistakes and get better.
