Jets players join the NFLPA's clamour to end the use of artifical surfaces

00:00 I'd much rather play on grass.
00:01 I mean, it's, you know, the turf's hard on the joints,
00:03 hard on the knees.
00:04 And like you see in situations like that,
00:05 I would like to think on grass, you know,
00:07 maybe his foot doesn't get caught like it does
00:09 and all that pressure doesn't go on it.
00:10 Maybe it doesn't, who knows.
00:11 But, you know, I do feel like grass is safer.
00:14 It's better on the body long-term, that's for sure.
00:16 There's a huge difference for me after a game
00:18 not playing grass compared to turf.
00:19 - You get a good feel on some grass, like, we good.
00:23 But like, that turf sometimes can be difficult, you know,
00:27 when people just don't know how to brace for it
00:30 or you just get stuck in the wrong position sometimes
00:33 and can't get out of it.
00:35 I would want to go to grass.
00:37 I grew up playing on grass.
00:39 So yeah, that's my opinion on it.
00:43 - You feel a difference when you play a game
00:45 on grass and turf.
00:46 You know, when I was a young player,
00:48 I didn't quite believe it.
00:49 But now that I've gotten to the age I'm at,
00:51 you feel it in your ankles, knees, hips, back.
00:55 It just, the torque that you end up generating
00:58 through that turf just wears on your body so much more
01:00 if you're not even talking about injuries
01:02 and cleats getting stuck in the ground.
01:04 - I just feel that has to be something that changes.
01:06 You know, just at the end of the day,
01:07 grass is better for your body, it's better for your knees.
01:10 And that's just how it is.
01:12 So you just never know, man.
01:14 You know, it could have happened on grass,
01:15 you know, it could have been a whole different story.
01:17 But I just know just at the end of the day,
01:19 grass feels better on your body than turf.
