00:02 Talk about strange lines of the week.
00:05 I think the line to me tells the story in this game because who in the world is
00:10 gonna back the Patriots after the way that Miami looked against the Chargers?
00:15 The Dolphins, our favorite in the game, but it is slight.
00:19 It is only minus two.
00:20 We know historically speaking the Dolphins and
00:22 Patriots have always played close in these games.
00:25 It's hard to make a case for the Patriots,
00:27 which is why I think I like the Patriots this week because the line is so odd here.
00:33 I know, Jacob, that the Patriots, the thought process here from making this line
00:38 is that, look, New England's defense is gonna be much,
00:41 much better than what we saw in the Chargers.
00:44 But I would guess the public is gonna be all over Miami after that game on Sunday.
00:48 >> I would assume the same.
00:52 I think the Patriots are the right side here, I agree with you.
00:56 And I'll give you two reasons for that.
00:58 One, we have the Patriots offense looked pretty competent last week against
01:03 a good Eagles defense.
01:04 Now, I know they were down early, so maybe Philadelphia just kinda took its foot off
01:08 the gas and didn't think the Patriots would make a comeback.
01:10 But I think it's more attributable to the fact that Bill O'Brien is a good offensive
01:15 coordinator, and last year the Patriots had Matt Patricia and
01:18 Joe Judge running the show on that side of the ball.
01:21 Back Jones looked much better and much more comfortable in this offense.
01:24 And I think people are forgetting, literally last year,
01:27 the Patriots did not have an offensive coordinator who knew how to coach offense.
01:31 That is a big, big difference.
01:33 So I think they might be able to take advantage of Miami's secondary,
01:36 which was shaky against the Chargers.
01:38 Granted, it's Justin Herbert and a lot of talented receivers, but
01:41 Patriots find ways to exploit matchups and keep things close under Bill Belichick.
01:45 And that's the other thing here.
01:47 Bill Belichick in his career, I believe, is 0-4 against Chua Tagovailoa.
01:53 So I think he's gonna be really out for revenge and
01:55 being out to say, all right, we gotta finally beat this guy.
01:58 So I'm looking for the Patriots to come out and really try to win this game.
02:02 Maybe they come out, maybe Miami's a little excited after their big
02:05 offensive performance, and the defense kinda limits them early.
02:09 Now, do the Patriots win?
02:10 I'm not sure, but taking them as home dogs against the team coming off kind of
02:14 an emotional win where their offense looked great, give me the Patriots.
02:18 I just think this is a good spot for them.
02:20 I don't know, maybe I'm wrong, but I like them here.
