Daily rounds of rain and thunderstorms will continue over part of the southern Plains and into the Four Corners.

00:00 So it's a give and take in Texas.
00:02 We've got a double edged sword of a
00:04 forecast and it's all because of this.
00:06 Right here we have a boundary draped
00:08 across the South Central states and
00:10 you can see the ensuing moisture.
00:12 Some thunderstorms rumbling through
00:13 Southern New Mexico right on toward
00:15 Roswell and then across the state
00:17 line into West Texas.
00:18 A few more thunderstorms as well
00:19 from East Texas into Louisiana
00:21 and a bit of rain in between.
00:23 We really,
00:23 really need the rain in Texas,
00:25 but when you have so much rain in an
00:27 area that hasn't seen rain for awhile,
00:30 flash flooding becomes a concern.
00:31 This boundary isn't moving
00:33 anywhere very quickly,
00:33 so we will see rain across the
00:35 same areas this week,
00:37 which is good news.
00:38 Again,
00:38 I cannot stress enough how much we need rain,
00:41 but make sure you're being careful
00:42 as flash flooding is a concern.
00:44 If you're driving across,
00:45 let's say I-20 or even I-10.
00:47 This is how much though I want
00:49 to actually give you the proof.
00:50 We do need the rain here.
00:52 Look at the charcoal color
00:53 around Austin and San Antonio.
00:55 That represents where we have
00:56 the most exceptional levels of drought.
00:58 The highest level of drought that there is.
01:00 So rainfall in the long run is great news.
01:02 It's not going to get rid of the drought,
01:05 but it'll help chip it away bit by bit.
01:07 The rain is also going to help
01:09 bring down the temperature.
01:10 Yes, folks, even into Houston.
01:11 I cannot tell you the last time I
01:13 talked about the 80s in Houston,
01:15 at least when I wasn't talking
01:17 about low temperatures.
01:17 What a treat.
01:18 We're back to 87 and 88 by the end of the week.
01:21 Yeah, we go out back to the 90s for the weekend,
01:24 but hey, the break is much needed.
01:26 We're looking at the triple digits.
01:28 Only one spot with triple digits on the board
01:30 as we look through today and the next two
01:33 days as well. Three days I should say.
01:35 102 on Thursday in Del Rio,
01:36 but then you're back to 90 is the
01:39 thunderstorms and that boundary start
01:40 to drift a little further South.
01:42 We're in the 80s and low 90s in Houston.
01:44 The next three days in Dallas.
01:46 Enjoy it.
01:46 You're looking at the 80s for quite some time.
01:49 Then we're looking into Austin where hey,
01:51 we've seen plenty of days in the triple digits,
01:53 but not one triple digit temperature on the board.
01:56 week.
