With storms hitting the East Coast especially hard on Sept. 13, here's what you can expect in terms of travel delays across the country.
Transcript
00:00 More rain across the northeast might cause some delays if you're traveling
00:03 tomorrow. Justin Povic has what you need to know in tonight's travel outlook.
00:07 All right, let's go traveling as we venture our way down the road here in
00:12 the middle week. Hey, Wednesdays just around the quarter into the
00:15 northwestern United States over the interior. We're gonna be tracking some
00:18 downpours and that could signal some delays toward Helena Salt Lake City
00:22 looking relatively quiet though toward Interstate five around Portland and
00:27 into Seattle. Let's slide our way south into the far interior southwest. We're
00:32 also gonna be tracking some moisture and some downpours that could result in
00:36 some minor backup, some delays, some pockets of lower visibility. Denver,
00:40 Albuquerque, Phoenix, where these thunderstorms develop. Now there can be
00:43 some ponding on the road surfaces, perhaps some minor airline backups to
00:48 and again, some of those will extend just north of Denver by and large, much
00:51 of the planes into the Great Lakes gonna be on the quiet side. Beautiful
00:55 days setting up here toward Minneapolis southbound. We go and look at that.
00:59 Some rain coming back into Texas. We sure do need it. Dallas, Houston. That
01:03 does mean delays, though, for you, and this will stretch along Interstate 10
01:06 here into the southeast. Some of the delays can be a little lengthier,
01:09 where those thunderstorms set up potentially around Atlanta's Hartsfield
01:12 International Airport. Also looking at some showers toward Chicago, and then
01:16 we bump into the northeast, looking on the dreary side here with at least some
01:20 minor travel delays anticipated. Much can be seen here. Similarly, here is
01:25 we work our way toward our nation's capital. Meanwhile, the acu of the U. S.
01:29 Flight cancellation forecast calling for some high numbers on Wednesday, but
01:32 gradually lowering as we work our way into late week.
