00:14 Kevin became popular on YouTube through sketches that sometimes included his dad and touch
00:18 on his Asian-American background.
00:20 Today, he has over 2.8 million followers and when he mysteriously disappeared, people came
00:25 up with all kinds of theories about what he could be up to.
00:28 Some thought he might have gone to do some humanitarian work and used his YouTube money
00:32 for his Jumba Fund, which helps build schools in Nairobi.
00:35 And others thought that he left to pursue college because education is important kids,
00:39 not just being a digital star.
00:41 Last year, Kevin explained why he left YouTube by launching a blog called "Monk.College"
00:45 where he mentioned going back to college to study Buddhism.
00:48 Rumors spread that Kevin actually left to become a monk and then he shut down those
00:51 rumors saying that he's not becoming a monk, he just admires them.
00:54 In hopping back on the scene, Kevin has shed his username KevJumba and has rebranded himself
00:59 as just Kev.
01:00 He also recently released a video called "Hope" letting fans know that he had a near-death
01:04 experience after being hit by a car last year and was hospitalized for 45 days.
