00:02 On news, they are separating.

00:05 On Wednesday, the former couple each posted a brief statement

00:08 to Instagram confirming their split, writing,

00:12 "Statement from the two of us.

00:14 After four wonderful years of marriage,

00:16 we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage.

00:20 There are many speculative narratives as to why,

00:23 but truly this is a united decision,

00:25 and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes

00:29 for privacy for us and our children."

00:31 The Jonas Brothers singer filed for divorce

00:34 from his wife of four years on Tuesday,

00:36 Access Hollywood confirmed.

00:38 According to court documents obtained by Access,

00:41 Joe filed a petition for dissolution of marriage

00:43 in Miami-Dade County, Florida.

00:45 The papers state that, quote,

00:47 "The marriage between the parties is irrevocably broken."

00:51 The 34-year-old musician and the "Game of Thrones" star

00:54 are parents to two young daughters,

00:56 three-year-old Willa and a second daughter,

00:58 whose name they have not shared,

00:59 whom they welcomed just last year.

01:02 The former couple appears to be planning for joint custody.

01:05 It is in the best interests of the minor children

01:08 that the parties have shared parental responsibility,

01:11 the papers state.

01:12 In addition, the pair intend to uphold

01:15 their prenuptial agreement.

01:17 Joe and the 27-year-old star tied the knot in 2019

01:20 in two ceremonies, one in Las Vegas

01:23 after that year's Billboard Music Awards,

01:25 and then a more formal ceremony in France.

01:28 They welcomed their daughters in July 2020 and July 2022.

01:32 Access Hollywood spoke to the "Little Bird" singer

01:35 in September 2022, just weeks after their youngest was born,

01:39 and he shared how parenthood has impacted him.

01:47 It's so cool to see this, you know, all happening for you.

01:51 How do you think fatherhood has changed you

01:54 and expanding the family has changed the dynamic?

01:59 I work harder to take more time off in my life now.

02:04 I want to be able to be very present.

02:07 And even at home, I think the biggest change is, like,

02:10 even small things that I could do.

02:12 I've deleted social media pretty much off my phone,

02:15 and I'll re-download it if I want to post something

02:17 or to re-delete it.

02:19 And I still use it, but I'm able to be, like, present at home

02:22 and be present when I'm around my friends and family,

02:25 most importantly.

02:26 I really love that.

02:28 And those small little things go a long way.

02:31 And if I'm at home and doing Zooms,

02:33 I try to do it during a window where it's just me time.

02:36 And so it's quite nice, and so it's changed me a lot.

02:40 I think it's made me for the better.

02:43 And ultimately, as a bandmate, you're

02:48 a little bit more emotional with these songs

02:50 that you're writing and the things you're going through

02:52 and the stories you're telling and you want to share

02:54 and the relations that you have around you.
