00:17 Connie, Rafika, the plenary session of the 43rd ASEAN Summit has just started here in the Jakarta Convention Center in Indonesia.
00:29 A while ago, the ASEAN leaders, including President Bongbong Marcos, and First Lady Luis Araneta Marcos, arrived one after another.
00:38 After the luncheon of the ASEAN leaders, the ASEAN-Indo-Pacific Forum will open where some dialogue partners including America and China will be present.
00:49 Later this afternoon, the President will have a roundtable dialogue with some businessmen where he is expected to present some airport projects in the country and will invite the leaders here.
01:00 In the next three days from now, President Bongbong Marcos will be holding 13 summits,
01:06 the first of which will be held by ASEAN Member States and their ASEAN dialogue partners.
01:11 Like you mentioned, Rafi, one of the most anticipated ASEAN-China Summit where the issues in the South China Sea will be discussed and the code of conduct for the region will be followed.
01:23 This summit will be held during the rising tensions between not only the Philippines and China, but also other climate countries like Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam, and India because of the 10-line map of China.
01:37 Aside from what the President said yesterday in his departure speech, he will follow a rules-based international order in the South China Sea,
01:44 which was first stated by our Department of Foreign Affairs, which the President is expected to try to include the Philippines' position in the joint statement issued by ASEAN at the end of the summit on Thursday regarding China's aggressive action in the region.
01:58 Aside from that, there are also important summits like ASEAN-US, ASEAN-India, ASEAN-Indo-Pacific, and ASEAN-East Asia where cooperation in food security will be discussed, which is one of the important areas for many countries.
02:13 Climate change, digital economy, human trafficking, and protection of Filipinos abroad are some of the things that the President is expected to support in the 10-line summits.
